Just a few idea's for you to go over,if you have had your bike in storage through out the winter,
if any body else can add suggestions, please do,
* * Check battery terminals (clean, if necessary, with baking soda and water). * * Dry or apply an after wash product (there are several available), then dry. * * Check oil and other lubricants. * * Check cables and lube with specified lubricants. * * Check tire pressure and wear. * * Check, charge, or install the battery (positive lead first). * * Check all lights, and operation of each. * * Check brake fluid level, and pads/shoes for wear. * * Wash or apply a pre-wash, and then thoroughly "bathe" your ride. * * Apply leather treatment to leather components. * * Check drive belt, chain, or shaft. * * Polish and wax all chrome and painted parts. * * Add "octane" booster (if desired) according to directions. * * Clean inside of helmet with mild soap (let dry). * * Write down beginning mileage. * * Review any notes written before putting your motorcycle in Winter storage.
For me its simple normal checks,,,,tyres, brakes, oil, water, petrol and go...........RAC card in pocket for anything else.....
Rain washes bike while out.....
when winter storing a bike i would do most in that list before bike goes into garage alond with more air in tires and where poss take the weight of the bike off of the suspension, would be best to clean bike b4 storage and if in damp conditions spray with an oil such as wd40 but be damned sure to remove ALL traces of this from brakes before riding bike again :>) they help to stop dont - cha - know :>)
