Did the egg run this morning bloody cold, even saw a monkey looking for a welder; well worth it though for the little ones spending Easter in hospital.

Tried out my new Dr Bike heated grips

Tried out my Aldi base layer shirt

Had my first venture onto the M6....not far, just one junction south, round the roundabout then back to my junction again....So that's my initiation into motorway riding. I've done it but to be honest it was horrible. My bloomin biceps were really aching after only 20 miles cos it was a bit gusty in places. Then it started snowing!

Oh well, I've done it but not in any great hurry to repeat the experience lol....but my hands did stay warm

Minnie
I fitted a screen to my virago and it made motorway riding a lot easier and more comfortable. It didn't affect the bike's performance at all and keeps the rain off.

Went for a jaunt with Dad to pick up his newly strengthened and powder coated rear rack. Fitted it at powdercoaters as it was easier than trying to strap it to seat. Now he's all set for touring later in the year, when the temperature rises.

Finally got the carb bowls set on the old XV 700....it has taken days of on off measure spill petrol, measure bend tang, aaaaghhhh I hate it....motorcycles should have a screw plate or something the tang on the carb floats.... It has got to be one of the most tedious time consuming bits of motorcycle DIY ever..... Now tomorrow I will check the pressure in the cylinders then check the colour of the explosion with the colour tune and then set the carbs are sync'd .....please say a prayer for me...lol

A mate showed me the easy way to do float hight you take carbs off the bike and remove all the float bowls put elastic bands round all but one of the floats to stop fuel leaking from them. you clamp carbs so upright and do one at a time takes about an hour to do all 4. Expect you will punch me in the face next time you see me me lol

Went for an MOT. Passed with no advisories . I was so pleased I wanted to take a ride out somewhere, but had to get back home and take the car for an MOT. With a nice long weekend ahead, I should get some good riding in.

Brilliant Egg Run today through Reading Town centre with around 300 bikers. Collected close on 7000 Easter eggs for the Varity Club Children's Charity. And the weather was kind.
