Does anyone know if this is still going ahead? I presume it is, but the matter of parking and camping still lies in the hands of the Planning Inspectorate I believe!
I have to presume Kaz that it is still going ahead given the level of commitment Jason will have put into it by now, but I don't know where he stands as far as using the gravel road and additional camping area is concerned.
Which of course raises the question of where people are going to park and camp lol!
I'm afraid I've never been involved in an appeal against a retrospective application, so can't really advise. I'm guessing he's being advised by his solicitor.
Geoff, what is the matter of the camping and parking then?
I'm going up to Squires again this evening, I will ask Jason if I know what I'm asking about ...
No, JP it's not whispers and rumours unfortunately.
All the documentation is in the public domain (look on Selby District Council's planning portal). It seems that Jason built the gravel road and improved camping facilities without planning permission and worse, on green belt land.
The local planning authority have found out (as they were bound to), made him put in a retrospective planning application, which they promptly refused and have issued an enforcement notice telling him to put it back as it was, which he has appealed against.
My belief (and as I said above, I've never been involved in an appeal against a retrospective application refusal) is that until his appeal is decided upon by the Planning Inspectorate, he isn't supposed to use the amenities under question!!
This would mean that there would be limited parking and camping.
would be interesting to see the flunky from the council tell us all to leave you just smile as you hold up a glass of bear in your hand and say sorry ive been drinking officer and unfit to drive / ride
hmmmmmm and I wonder if the Satans Slaves know about this??
Well I think if I ask Jason about this, he is only going to tell me everything is OK... well he's hardly going to tell me it's not.. is he?? lol
I'll see what I can find out though..
Went up last night.. but it was packed, just like a summer sunday! Jason wasn't about, and even if he was he would've been too busy to talk to properly.
Just had a word with a mate and as the main feild that is used for camping is Farm Land the gravel road is ok as it is not classed as hardstanding, But the pitchs by the cafe will be the issue as this is a camping area so as long as he has not using these he is ok, but can you realy see the council trying to move them on thay would have so much advise from the police to come back on monday and deal with it then
You're right JP, they won't make people move on. But if Jason allows people to use these areas, then he can probably kiss any chance of winning his appeal goodbye.
