Well done Saltaire, I went that route and had my 600 de-restricted this year on the two-year anniversary of passing the test. Not sure what the rules allow now, but you'll love being on a bigger bike. Fun, fun, fun.
Thanks so much everyone for your kind wishes - really appreciated. Been smiling to myself all day - and my 17 year old daughter thinks I'm cool - unbelievable! :-)
Really big congrats. I Did my test 30 years ago and it is the best thing I ever did. Its not just being able to ride a bigger bike (and that should be taken slowly), its changing a bit of your life.
The folks I have met and places I have been through biking, even on the bloody cold wintery days, have been awesome.
Really well done, but when your riding, assume every bugger is out to hurt you :P.
Thanks Guys, invaluable advice indeed - and certainly taken on board. As some folks have said, passing your test is one thing, learning to ride, and ride well, is another ... Must say, though, as a novice rider, how supportive and encouraging I've found folk on this site, both those I've met in person, and those met 'virtually'.
