1. This website is best viewed over a broadband internet connection, with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
2. When you register you are required to give a small amount of information, much of which is optional.  Anything you do give must be considered as becoming public information.
3. You agree not to use this forum to post any material which is vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws. You also agree that you will not post any copyrighted material that is not owned by yourself or the owners of this website.  This includes Private Messages received may not be forwarded on to another person or site, nor posted on a thread.
4. Members are not permitted to include personal information (such as email addresses, phone numbers or other website references) when posting on Biker Match (this includes profiles, forum messages, private messages, events or anywhere else).  This is to protect our members from abuse by individuals maliciously collecting such data for unsolicited purposes. It is of course out of our control if you exchange personal information privately at one of our events, but you remain personally responsible for this and Biker Match take no responsibility for what happens to your personal data.
   You may exchange phone numbers via Private Message when you feel that you can trust the recipient, but Biker Match does not take responsibility for any actions taken offline nor how the recipient uses your phone number.  Email addresses are NEVER permitted however, as they are almost only ever given out by spammers looking to entice people into giving away their own email address.
5. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages and profile, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this website and their agents with respect to any claim based upon any data you submit. We also reserve the right to reveal whatever information we know about you in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any data posted by yourself.
6. Although data submitted to this site are not the responsibility of this site and we are not responsible for the content or accuracy of any of this data, we reserve the right to delete any data for any or no reason whatsoever. If you do find any information that is objectionable then please contact the site immediately.  We cannot be held responsible for the dynamic content submitted into the Biker Match database, although we do make every effort to ensure malicious, discriminatory or prejudiced content is removed immediately.
7. The Federal Trade Commission's Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) requires that Web Sites are to obtain parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under 13.
   BikeChat.Net and BikerMatch.co.uk asks that nobody below the age of 18 (Eighteen) registers on this site as children's privacy and protection is of our utmost interest. If you are below 18 then you can NOT use this website. Do NOT register if you are below the age of 18.
8. By registering on this website, you meet the above criteria and agree to abide by all of the above rules and policies. You confirm you are over the age of 18 (Eighteen)
   All rights are reserved on this website's content and design.  No part of it may be copied in any way.
9. Unless otherwise stated, all information collected by this website, either through the individual filling in forms on the site or in emails sent to the site, will not be passed onto third parties unless for legal reasons.  Some  information submitted to this website will be used to gauge the use of the services to help with the development and update of future services from us.
10. Viewing pages on this site will not cause private information about you to be recorded. This site does not use "cookies" to track where you go or what you do. We do maintain statistics, which are collected to provide statistical information about server usage, and to plan for future capacity and to ascertain which parts of the site people use. This information is never provided to third parties and does not contain any personal information about the user.
    This website is fun, interactive, safe and anonymous.  Please enjoy it whilst knowing that your private information is being held securely.
11. You do not use this website or our events to advertise your own business, unless you have specific arrangements with us.  Neither Matt, MD Web nor BikerMatch.co.uk can be held responsible for the content of sites which have advertisements or links on this site.  Spam links (other site's advertisements) are NOT allowed, report members who are trying to spam while chatting.
12. Offensive or vulgar language will not be tolerated, a constant disregard of this rule will result in a ban (temporary or permanent).  Racial, sexual, religious, ethnic or other slurs are PROHIBITED.  Be polite and respectful of other members of this community at all times.
13. Subscribed users who break the rules will also be dismissed from the site, and will not be entitled any refund.
14. No links to other sites are permitted without prior permission from BikerMatch staff.  Adding links to your profile to other websites may result in a permanent ban.
15. We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. If you would like more information about this practice and would like to know your options in relation to not having this information used by these companies, please contact us.
16. All mailing list options are opt-in and you may opt-out at any time.  Simply use the link at the bottom of the email you receive, or edit your account preferences here.
17. BikeChat/BikerMatch subscription payments will not be refunded if you have used your account for more than 10% of the subscribed period.  For example, if you upgrade your account for 30 days we will only refund your subscription within the first 3 days of payment being made.  Therefore if you forget to cancel your subscription before the next payment is sent, we will return your payment as a gesture of good faith.
18. BikeChat/BikerMatch do not store any banking information provided by you during upgrade.  Your credit and debit card details are never stored on our servers for security reasons. All card payment information is passed securely to Paypal who process payments on our behalf.  If you wish to discuss privacy issues further, please email us and we will get in touch.
19. Sensitive information such as your password is encrypted before being stored on our servers. This data is secure and cannot be compromised.  In case of our database being hijacked, your data will still be safe and secure using the latest high-security encryption methods.
20. All data within our database can be updated or removed at anytime simply by logging into your account and following the appropriate links.  If you are unsuccessful with logging in, you may write to us using the contact page and we will be happy to assist.
21. Profile photos must be in accordance with the following rules.  Failure to cooperate will result in your photos being remove or your account deleted...
     
    • Your "Main Profile Photo" must show your face clearly. If you are using a picture which has your partner in it also, please make it clear which one is you, as some site names do not give a clue to gender. It should also be as recent as possible.
    • Miscellaneous photos such as bikes, cars, kitchens, fish, sheep(!), etc can be uploaded in addition to your Main Pic. We have no problem with you uploading jokes which add humour to the site... but your main pic has to show your face clearly.
    • Photos solely of other people - If you are uploading pictures of other people, please bear in mind that some folk do not like having their photos taken and you wouldn't want people putting your worst picture on THEIR profile would you? If in doubt ask them first.
    • Photos of children are explicitly not allowed! Unless: it is photos of yourself with your own children. You must have at least one other photo which clearly identifies you. This policy is so that we adhere to the Children's Protection Act 1989.
    • Weapons/Guns being held by a person will not be allowed in profile photos. Neither will photos representing gangs or other threatening behaviour be allowed.
    • 'Suggestive' photos will not be allowed. It goes without saying that 'nude' photos aren't allowed, but neither are those that are too suggestive and of an adult nature. It's at a moderator's discretion whether to allow your photo or not.
    • Photos that are so small and pixelated where it's impossible to make out any details will be removed. These photos frustrate other members (who think that the site is at fault and end up reporting the photo to us).
    • Photos including personal contact information put you at risk, and so will be removed. You will only be given 1 warning, the 2nd time you upload a photo with your contact details in you will be banned from the site (Permanently & without exception, subscribed member or not).
    • Number plates of vehicles should be removed, but we do not enforce this. You put yourself at risk if you include your number plate in photos, from those who copy plates to those who want to find you. You should edit your photo(s) before uploading. Please be aware of other people's number plates as well as your own.
22. You may not promote any other website on your profile.  Do not post links to your business or Facebook without our explicit permission.  Paid advertising on Biker Match is always possible, please contact us for more information.
23. Neither BikerMatch nor MD Web can be held responsible for any actions taken offline.  We are not responsible or liable for any injuries, accidents or mishaps at any event, whether organised by individual members of the website or BikerMatch staff.  All riders participating in ride outs and other events are to ensure their vehicles are adequately insured and tested for all trips.  Members hosting their own events (like BBQs at home, etc) are to ensure they have appropriate liability insurance where necessary.  BikerMatch will not be liable for what happens at these events.
24. By uploading photos to Biker Match you agree that you own the copyright to the photographs. In addition you license Biker Match to use your photographs, in whole or in part for promotion in print and digitally including but not limited to social networking sites and external websites where Biker Match has a presence. If you choose to leave Biker Match in the future Biker Match will not remove your photographs from any print or digital service where they are already in use. No fees will be paid to the copyright owner for the license to use any photographs uploaded to Biker Match. If you upload photographs which you do not own copyright on you will be liable for any costs incurred by Biker Match for their removal including any subsequent costs brought against Biker Match by any third parties.
25. Each person may only hold one current account on Biker Match.  It is not allowed to create 2nd or duplicate accounts in any way or for any reason.
26. Your account may only be of yourself.  You cannot create an account for groups, businesses, animals or your bike.  The main photo on your profile must be a true likeness of yourself and not distorted or edited in order to hide your true identity.
27. Accounts which do not conform to our rules may be immediately removed without notice and without refund of any fees paid.
28. Inappropriate behaviour on BikerMatch will result in your account being suspended or banned completely.  Keep the chatroom and forums clean and friendly.  Talking filth and dragging the chatroom to gutter level will have your account suspended at the very least.  All chatroom data is logged for 2 weeks.  We encourage you to be responsible and to respect our community as well as others participating within the community. Your conduct should be guided by common sense and basic "netiquette".
29. All whispers and private messages are recorded.  These messages can be used as evidence during an investigation follow allegations of misconduct.  Contact us for further information about this policy.
30. Nothing of a sexual or suggestive nature is allowed on this site.  Profile photos and chatroom/forum messages are covered by this rule. Text can include, but is not limited to: 'sexy', 'hot', 'cyber' etc when it can be interpreted to refer to cybersex for example.
31. Usernames/Names which can be considered to be impersonating an admin are prohibited. Admin is defined as a Site Administrator, Moderator or other Staff / Volunteer.
32. Do not provoke or harass admins or other members, doing so will result in your account being suspended or deleted.
33. Anybody with a sexual or violent criminal conviction must disclose it to the Accounts team via the Contact page BEFORE joining BikerMatch.  It is at our discretion whether we allow you to join or not.
34. It is not permitted within your profile to request other members to contact you via private message soley because you are a standard member.
35. Photographic equipment may be used at our events.  The photos from these events may be used on BikerMatch or other digital/printed media (such as Facebook, magazines, Google, etc).  By attending our events you give permission to use photos of you online and offline indefinitely.  We will not remove photos of you should you choose to leave the website (nor if you are banned).
