ok, it may have been done before but there you go.
What was your first bike and did you love or hate it? Is there a story behind it?
My first bike which I thought was f in brilliant was a Suzuki TS250 trail bike, my cousin gave it to me as payment for my Dad building him a dog kennel I dunno but that's how I got it.
Loved that bike, I had to put new fork stanchions on it and sprayed the tank red myself (the finish of sandpaper, nice)
my first love was a bsa C15 and wanted to get one and arraged to from a local daler agreed to pay so much each week, (my dad would not lend me the money) got a job and went to make the fist payment and the dealer laughed at me and said im not selling it to a girl . .... I was not a happy bunny ah well never went back to that shop (just once when I had me sprint lmao)
My first and only love was a Kawasaki KH250. Dropped handle bars and a Rickman 3/4 fairing. Alas it was short affair of 3 months, but I seized it 3 times (middle cylinder!) and snapped the chain once. Me a looney - I am amazed that I made it this far in life!
CB125 wet dream ...cheap and cheerfull but with your feet on the rear pegs laying on the tank and some jiggery pokery with sprocket sizes you get up and stay with the big bikes as long as they didn't kick the arse out of it....
...there was a few 50 cc before that that died of...mmmhhh a few causes, but they are really not bikes.......
.......... then again neither is a CB 125
My first ever EVER bike, as in the first two wheeled vehicle with an engine was a Raleigh Runabout (Hangabout) which I rebuilt in the shed one summer when I was about 14 then rattled to bits riding around the fields nearby.
Kawasaki Z200... did 45mph everywhere on it, (it refused to go over that unless going downhill) crackin little bike, even travelled round the valleys and hills of Wales on it
@feistygirl - i know what you mean. my bike would do a max of 89mph, unless i hit a bump in the road (preferrably in the road!) and it would jump to 99mph - and back on the next bump!!
did anyone ever switch the speedo and rev counter cables over or was that just an urban legend??
i had a gpz305 as my first bike and i loved it ! belt drive so no chain to oil ............cannot remeber how fast it went but must have been quick.............lol.....x
first bike i ever owned was a jawa cz 175 i was about 14 the bikes suspention was colapsed but it dident matter,to me it rode like a dream up and down a local disused railway line
bringing a smile to my face now thinking about it
first road bike was a Suzuki X1 at the tender age of 16, but my first bike was a CB125S field bike at the age of 10. I'd rather not have either back.....
My 1st bike was an Italjet 50 in 1977, then various moto x bikes until I was 16 and able to get let loose on the roads. 1st road bike was a Suzuki TS50 ER in 1983, which was a bit annoying and slow after 125 - 500 motocrossers, but I loved it and it gave me the freedom of independent travel. lol
