Found this while geeking around

He also did a camera mount too.

I like the simplicity, but I'd be uncomfortable about losing a mirror. I take it the video is from the US in view of the guy's accent, in which case he's using his offside mirror - even worse!
And haven't you got better things to do at 2.26 in the morning?
interesting geeking PP! but I wouldnt want to sacrifice a mirror either! has anyone fitted a zumo to an R1? dont know where the best place to put it is?
Julie, best place to mount your zumo is on the top of the headstock as I've done with Rach's CBR.
To do this you need to speak to these people; www.telferizer.com
Basically it's just a ram ball mounted onto an expanding rubber sleeve. You pop the plastic cover off the top of your headstock, drop the telferizer into it and then twist it until it expands enough to grip properly ... shimples!
The ray gun. I had a bit of difficulty removing the laser out of its housing. I have just liberated a couple more from the bin at work so will have another go tomorrow. for those of you who are interested

I put a car GPS in a clear sandwich box that was attached to the handlebars with tie wraps. See the pic of my bike in my profile pictures. Simple and cheap but it worked.
Don't think i'd trust a £200 satnav velcoed to a mirror Tbh.
I bought a dedicated bracket from www.gpsw.co.uk for my TomTom car unit and then put a 12v cigarette socket to the battery, which works very well, only problem is you can't hear the instructions as it's not blue tooth enabled.

Mines like this one with the head bracket attached
and bolted to the fairing stay on the SP

I fitted my Zumo 660 to my beemer via a headstock ram ball fitting, custom made by www.telferizer.com. I wouldn't trust my sat nav to a velcro mounting at any cost. It was used for two weeks on the euro tour last year, never moved and it was easily visible while riding.
the easiest way ive found is a oxford one tank bag or any multi layer tank bag with clear map pocket with a £2 earpiece that fits snug over the earlobe .... on my zx there is pockets in the fairing where i have fitted a waterproof accessory socket which comes in handy for charging the phone as well
^^^^^ similar to Nellie,
I have only an old £40 PDA but it's running tomtom 6 europe.. the placement is not ideal (it's in the top of tankbag).. I use some noise blocker bud earphones, and an added benefit is I get music from the pda, until the satnav cuts in..
works well :) - really made long straight journeys a lot more pleasant :)
I also fitted 2 marine 12V cig lighter sockets into the fairing..
