ok long story but the short version just bought 2nd bagster tank cover for my ST 1100 PAN. how the hell do you do up the cheap n nasty buckles on the securing straps without breaking em? why is this bagster stuff so friggin expensive? only bought it because it seems the best of an average quality bunch. broke the buckles on my first one with n ot to much effort lol. any help/advice for a clumsy old biker welcome lol
yee I do agree, exp kit but not top quality, straps do let it down, I would try e mailin baglux, see if they can help you.....may be lucky enuff that thay wanna build a good reputation, wouldnt mention u purchased used tho.....just had for some time....been great..but now....et et sob sob....see wat happens!
Been using bagster for 16 years, never broke a buckle, perhaps your trying to pull too tight. They only have to hold, are you warming up the cover when first putting it on so it takes the shape of the tank, if I was putting one on this time of the year I would lay it on and go over it with a hair drier and then gradually pull on straps till it moulded on.
i broke one of the front pivot clasp on mine when the bike fell over but there let me have another at the show with rivet. as harry says warm the cover when fitting, i'v found it to be an excellence item
I have to add Ive never busted one of mine either but they are plastic an perhaps with age/cold could break..
And ther nothing as good on the market, but still in mho room for better quality fasteners on the straps to secure cover.I keep mine indoors so nevr had to fit it cold...
I do agrre though £80 plus pounds for a tank cover is overpriced really. Guess they know there nothing that compares huh..
