sorry Matt just dont like your designs 1 bit, they remind me of toys, but Mikes designs are a lot better espesially the one with the 3 different coloured bikes
Thanks Drobs, I too like the one of the 3 bikes. Waiting to see my designer next week to see if he can run with the idea. I've got the files from Mike.
Still the more ideas we get before next week the better. If you can scribble your ideas down it would also help?
Johnny, print this for me mate and scribble on what you mean....
He heh, sweet!
I see you got a bit of nipple action going on there too... ;)
Erm, dude... don't want to alarm you but I think you are just about to get attacked by some weird mutant elephant-dwarf-thing with a stick!!!
Had a look through the preceeding 16 pages and there are some nice ideas and artwork coming through - good work BMers!
I would rather not interpret or adapt anybody elses work so I have taken a completely fresh approach to offer an alternative idea.
I spent a while seeing if you could make heart shapes out of two helmets or chain links (which you can) but the final artwork would be so intricate that it would not be suitable for use as a logo, especially when used at it's smallest size.
Please look at images in the BM Logo Concept folder on my profile
I went back to just playing with the BM initials and have come up with the following concept:
The two letters B and M in close proximity (representing community?) which look interesting geometrically.
I have then used two non gender-specific helmets facing each other to define the cutouts in the letter B. These helmets can be interpreted in many ways such as two bikers passing each other on the road, two bikers searching, two bikers communicating etc.
The logo just uses two colours (duotone) which can be changed dependant on which background the image is to be used on. This also greatly reduces costs when producing merchandising products.
As shown, the logo can also just be single colour (monotone) when used as a fax heading or for engraving/glass etching etc.
Concerns have been raised about whether this is a dating site, whther we alienate same sex dating, do we want to wear a logo which highlights the member is on a dating site etc and I hope this design bypasses all of them.
I have also chosen not to show any form of bike on there as to choose one type of bike would alienate the riders of another.
I have added a family of logos in a folderon my profile. These are not alternatives but rather how a single logo can be used in a number of different ways in different applications.
I would suggest that the logo with the words Biker and Match cutout in the letters B and M should be used for a while until the shape of the logo gains recognition and then these words could be dropped in the future.
I look forward to hearing your comments.... (I think )
TC
Ah.... but that is EXACTLY why it WILL keep them happy... otherwise it would have to include a cruiser, tourer, sports bike, moped, veteran, trike, etc... that is a looooong logo (and would look more like a traffic jam or car park!!)
Besides, it has helmets on and I bet more people on here have helmets than they do motorbikes...
Cheers BJ!
The "I love BM" picture is just an idea for car stickers or t-shirts based on the the original "I love NY" logo by Milton Glaser.
I actually like it cos if you look quickly it says "I love bum". Love to see a load of people walking around a rally (or Sainsbury's) wearing that!!!
TC, go read the other pages and Facebook! I took a LOT of stick for not having a motorbike on it, even though I have little "jelly babies" with helmets/visors (which can be emphasised in final design)
Ah, Matt... but there is a big difference between what people want and what people can actually have.
There is an old saying - you can't please all of the people all of the time... but you CAN hit them around the back of the head with a big stick!!
p.s. you are on Facebook now???
Just looked through the comments on Facebook...
Classic 'design by committee' - you don't have a chance!!
(another old saying - "a camel is a horse designed by a committee")
