I was going to Lymm as per earlier instructions.... I dare not cross the cat alone on the Bonnie.... Ok the Enfield has a job to reach 50 never mind average 50 .... And the Landy is much the same although it drifts on the better corners.... But the Bonnie.... I'll need a pace car or I get points
And the Daytona.... stays in the shed
@Julestools....still a meet up at Lymm Service Station. Not sure what time now. Matlock is 11.30 am meet up. I've no clue how long it takes to get there
and if ya ride behind me you won't ever, EVER, run the risk of getting points lmao
For those who are meeting up at Lymm, please post the time for the meet up. TY
Lymm to Matlock is about an hour and a half if you keep to the limits via the Cat and A6 (depending on the route)
Cat, A515 and Via Gelia is a little longer but faster although there is now a 50 MPH limit on the A515
Bypassing Buxton via Flagg and Chellmorton has no limits and no cameras :-) but is country lanes with stone walls if you fail
Yeah about an hour and a half, not traveled the A515 for some time so didn't know there was a 50mph limit, can't see it being rigidly enforced though, it's a big rollercoaster of a road
Leaving Lymm no later than 10.00 if you're going to make Matlock no later than 11.30 then, might just be there for the company
It is a good road. I went on a ride out from Oulton Park a few years ago (ok twenty) on the BM K100.... I was doing .... Ok I was moving on a little but I couldn't catch up with the sportsbike lads till we got to the cafe in Ashbourne for a brew
It's a shame to restrict it to 50
Last time I went down there (to the Ostrich) I was on the Enfield 350T and still managed to break the limit (down hill)
well its getting closer peeps i cant wait to go for a blast to matlock am going to take a route that will take me through several places that i lived when i was a kid up to leaving the area at 27 and havnt been back for about 13 yrs will be interesting to see how its all changed
I'll see you all outside Kosta's about 11.30. Good luck to all on the charity ride. good cause but who decided to finish a ride with hundreds of bikes in Matlock on a Sunday. Where are they going to Park?
@vlad, unfortunately when setting up Matlock mayhem, despite asking if there were any other rides out and checking the events page which was clear of northern events at that time, no-one made me aware that there was a charity ride on the 27th.
It wasn't until at least two weeks after my original post that the charity event was highlighted and added to the events page. by that time over 30 bmers had added themselves on the event page. This is why we are doing the meet time as 11.30 am.
It's gonna be heaving with bikes any Sunday, I'm sure a few hundred more won't make that much difference, as for parking, well they'll park everywhere and anywhere they can it's not like we're driving 4 x4's
I'd keep a check on the speed though and behave yourselves in built up areas.
