Another event to look out for is the South London Motorcycle Show, tis on Saturday April 21st (on the event's page). It's in support for SERV (Blood runner's).
Although i submitted the event, i am not down to go yet, as i'm still hoping to do the MCN weekender thingy thang.
Otherwise, hope to see you all at the Gamecock tonight (Thursday 5th).
Regards and best wishes
Brat.
Several folk expressed an interest in watching the truk racing at Brands. Its 21/22 April so if you are interested I will take the car and can get access to the South Bank so we can be seated and fed/watered from stuff I can take using the car. I will add to events page asap. Suggest you get tikets in advance ot save dosh, also happy if anyone wants to set up tents at mine. I live around 30mins from Brands so we can perhaps have a few beers/food after on the Sat eve? Plenty of car action too and should be a great event. weekend tiket in adv same as raceday sunday at £21 adult. see Brands site for more details. Andy
Sorry folks I'm not going to make tonoght, just finished work and gagging for a beer, it's going to be the only chance for me to have a good drink, i'm going to be working all weekend.
....and I completely forgot to check my diary! What's the point of having a diary if you don't bloody look at it! Hmmm...don't suppose anyone missed me though!
Of course we did OJ - I did keep watching the door expecting to see you come in, and kept checking on here for any messages from anyone. Very sad not to have seen you!
On the up side (I just have to mention this to anyone and everyone!) I actually rode MY bike all the way from Maidstone and back again!! YIPEE
Yeah! Well done Sarah! Hope you enjoyed the trip, it's good going almost anywhere when you start out solo riding, you get a great feeling of accomplishment when you reach your destination! Years ago when we were all riding Brits you got that any time you actually got anywhere without having to stop and adjust something!! In my case on a tuned Norton it was usually the clutch! Thought nothing of whipping off the primary chaincase to do that at the side of the road after 30 miles!
OJ I remember doing that with my RE continental GT. It had a habit of shearing the Woodruff key and the clutch would fall off the shaft. It was probably my fault as a teenager not tightening it up properly. I carried some spare WR keys and a pint of oil. It took about 1/2 hour to fix. Some years later with more experience I found out about torque wrenches
Sorry for going off thread
Nice meeting at Gamecock I felt.....I tried to make bridges with the 'stinkwheels club' and VJMC club who also were there, be nice get us all interacting a bit! Well done Sarah on her getting there an back safely and pretty competantly on her 125. As time and miles pile up it will get far easier too. Off to Brands in a bit but its raining...grrr.
BSB meeting at Brands today was great. Bit cold but rain stayed away. Will be there tmrw Sunday early to get a place on the South Bank, anyone going look for the silver ford galaxy, we will be nearby. Andy
Finally I have time to sit down and post - Bill very kindly went through his diary with me and I made a note of all events he had down. Just some general suggestions if anyone is interested in any of them!
1 July - Heartbeat at Brighton
13-15 July - Rabbit Run, Icklesham
29 July - Streetfighter Stunt Fest, Brent Cross
27 August - Chrome and Cruisers 6, Sittingbourne Dog Track
9 September - Ace Cafe Brighton Burnup
14 October - Brightona
We also have been given flyers for Gravesend MCC Bike Show on Saturday 28 April. Andy is also planning to sort out a trip to Duxford, as well as the Eight White Horses event.
Me and Andy have discussed maybe going to the Wednesday evening meets at Oakdene Cafe now that the weather is getting better. Will possibly be going this week (18/4) if it stays fine, anyone wanting to join us is welcome.
