HRC if you keep locking the back wheel try just covering the brake pedal and braking on the front. I expect to get the riding instructors putting me in my place now lol
@ Karey, I went to Top Run on Oaks business park. He's not charging for the assessment but £125 for a full days training. I'll know more once I've been there on Sunday morning.
I'm sure it would work out cheaper if he was instructing 2 at a time, I'll ask when I get there!
@feylin and lulu, finger's crossed for you both too
HRC, i teach trainees the same rule i was taught,
Front brake = enough force with hand to squeeze a lemon
Rear brake = enough force with foot to crush a grape
seems to work well.
Lisa, I did my CBT with Top Run, both times. I was going to do my DAS with them, but at the time they only had 2 ER-5's which were both too high for me
But they also had 2 Suzuki 125's very similar to Ziggy and I don't mind taking my test on a 125 and being restricted.
So yeh if you could find out the cost for me that would be great.
It's my birthday this month, so I might get some pennies towards it
@jp. I wouldn't give you a bended earhole for that advice. It's the way I teach my students to pass their tests and only to do it that way on their test and I must be doing something right. I had two Mod 1 passes today and yesterday my boss told me I had the best pass rate of all the instructors over the last three months moving up from 2rd place from the previous three months. Ps there's more than two of us.
Enjoy the ride and don't worry about the outcome. The worst thing that can happen is you have. to retake it. People put to much worry into it. If you get home at the end of the day. You're safe.
jp . i wont bend your ear either . some bikes have really snappy rear brakes . As its been pointed out allready the rear brake only does 25% of your braking . so it is possible to get away with pretending to use it . however with that in mind you might aswell just use it a tiny tiny bit to aid your stopping .
hrc . im pleased to hear your now well up to speed , may i ask what speeds you recorded and was it the emergency stop or controlled stop you locked rear wheel on .
