Right peeps.. I went to Squires to see confront Jason about the new charges and basically he won't back down
He says they're charging for Trikes as 'in the past they've had loads of people turning up on trikes with lots of beer etc and not using the pub/cafe'
He also tried to justify the £10 per night charge by saying he went down south the other night and stopped in a field at a farm at 10.30pm with his tent, and was charged £15, he paid his money and left at 5.30am and he didn't see anything wrong with that..
So basically if you turn up on a bike it's no charge, any more than 2 wheels and it's £10 per night... Sorry, if I could find somewhere else cheaper or free, then I would, but I doubt that will be possible.
Also..if there are any DJ's or bands willing to play free or relatively cheap, let me know as I can't afford the £150 he's quoted for a DJ
I'm not advertising this as a party as I can't afford to do owt 'fancy' but just to have all my friends old and new and friends of friends come along for a 'social gathering' would really make this a special day/weeked for me as well as getting you all together for a meet in the middle of summer....bikes and sun and good company.. what more could we ask for. xxxxxx
Jasen's 'excuse' about it costing £15 down South is a pretty poor one, the cost of living is higher down there so the cost of camping is bound to be higher, is it not?
As the pub was sold by Jasen's dad I assume it's not Jasen who makes the rules or sets the charges, maybe an idea to find out when the owner will be there, or ask for a phone number / email address to contact the owner and see what he has to say?

If the camping charge includes electric hook-up then surely it must mean those folk are allowed to eat and drink their own?
(I know, there aint many tents with electrical sockets)

Unfortunately the bands have I have approached all have paying gigs on this night so I am a little miffed VERY inconsiderate of them all! (Everyone of em said they would do it for nowt or beer - but the date is a problem ... SODS LAW! )
