PROPER glamping, Lynn.
Wooden shelters; provide walls, roof, floor and often a low platform to put mattress and sleeping bag on.
Some even have power and heaters, bigger ones often have a tiny deck to sit on too. Haven't checked the website for there but it should have pictures.

Can't do 13/14 Sept, can do 20/21 Sept, would join you 28 Sept for ride and Saturday night if you go then; October looking better for me.

I must say I like the sound of Richards campsite .
I like my campfire warm and my beer COLD
I'll stick to lager lol.

I can ring the boss today if you choose a definite date.
I really enjoy the company of 'The Reivers' .

ok ,I rang the boss and as I thought the 14th is a no no .
However, he said I can have the following wknd off 20,21,22&23. So,,,,,,,,,, if there's nowt on paper for that wknd then I'm off to Tibbie's.
October , November are ok for me as long as I get a couple of weeks notice .

p.s. I still like the sound of Richards campsite in Grizedale forest.

Yep the Grizedale sounds good to me too. Easier for most people to get to I expect.
20-22nd sounds good to me but I'll need to check I've got nowt else on.
So that's the weekend sorted, just need to decide where.
Tibbie's, Grizdale, Dent, other?

take your 'kin o oft' coz the Lakes were Scottish , many moons ago and the original inhabitants still reside .
In their millions. Pmsl .

Don't ya all just love big lumpy scenery , stretches of open water and twisty roads . Bliss

Quite fancied a pod (not sure I can finish early so would be pitching in the dark) but they've a yoga convention booked all the pods and yurts the weekend of 20th/21st. Would have to juggle my day around, but that could be a good thing - take the scenic roads down, have some cake on the way.

a fekn yoga convention . OMG , it's a 'friends of the earth' terrorist training camp. They'll be stealing the bacon from yer sarnie and trying to set it free. Lol

Generally speaking , any campsite that allows open fires or/and bbqs gets my vote every time . A few beers around the campfire before and after the pub is a social highlight of biker civilisation. A bit like 'Holy Communion' for the worshipers of the Hebrew Sky God.

The Wilderness , an open fire and a pint,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Ahh it's biblical.

p.s. We have over twelve feet of rain a year here in Lakeland, yes , lots more than Scotland. Make sure the site is on the sides of the valley rather than the bottom .soggy soggy soggy lol .

Well the result of today's exploring was:
Grizdale. Looks like an ok site and the pub is within a 1/2 mile walk/stagger. But it's bugger to find, the sat nav took us via the ferry! After which it's a morass of small single trackers which might be interesting for anyone traveling in the dark without a sat nav.Castlerigg outside Keswick as suggested by Tripple955. Nice site with on site restaurant and adjacent bar. Most of the pitches are on a bit of a slope, although you might get lucky. Easy to find but you want Castlerigg Manor not Castlerigg Farm (which doesn't do groups) and they are only about 100m apart. I've not stayed there before so late noise might be an issue.
Sykeside near Brotherswater (Kirkstone Pass). Good site, top pub and secondary bar with an interesting collection of malts. also does rooms in the Inn, bunk barn etc. It works out £14 each / night for tent + person + bike (ouch).
Dent. Good site, good pubs (with some truly terrifying ales), easy to find. XK knows his way there. We have been there before so it's a known quantity and they know us. Also B&B's available for those that want them.
The downside is XK knows his way there (and I can't remember whose round it was at last count).
Over to you guys what do you think?

Angelsey lack the lumpy bit, the soggy bits, twisty bits and the pints of Old, Evil Bowel Basher beer (or whatever it's called).
