Hope to be at Moffat early to mid afternoon. I don't finish work until 06:00 . I may have a kip for a couple of hours then get cracking. Or, I may crash out until tea time lol. Best laid plans and all that bollox.
Oh wow! What a classic weekend at The Great One and Only TIBBIE SHIELS hotel and campsite. Friday morning and afternoon definitely belonged to Noah. Buy early evening Noah had long since (F)arked off down stream. Like well trained Special Forces we hurtled into action .... within seconds it was BOOM RAT A TAT. Beer! KABOOM barbie. Quickly we dug in around the campfire for bawdy jokes , ripping the pish and belly laughs. Suitably fortified with gallons of napalm. We stormed the enemy HQ (car drivers in the bar) Within minutes it was all over. Our drunken tales and raucous laughter drowned out all opposition. Victory was ours.
Saturday morning we awoke to glorious sunshine After a healthy start of Huge Fry up in the Glen Cafe it was ride out time. The Lammermuir hills . Route supplied by Richard (Squeaky door) scotdick.. Wonderful countryside (see photos) we visited The Wallace Statue(pics) and several cafés on route. After a hard day in the saddle Lyn (cor look at his bum) dizzydot spotted several Lycra clad male cyclists. We decided to return to camp for the evening festivities. More barbie more alcohol and then off to see The Border Boogie Band , live at Tibbie's. Brilliant set. We rounded off the evening with a seat round the campfire watching the Perseid meteor shower. Really interesting but not quite as exciting as a kiddies sparkler. p.s as usual XK got really pi55ed and thrown out of the pub . He then proceeded to fall over everyone's tent. Same old , same old. Thankyou to everyone who made it It was an honour to serve with you all . 'ten'hun... At ease ,stand easy xxx
Pt izzyhill reporting in, SAH! Confirmed with Cpl squeakydoor that a drop of rain on the Glen cafe windys at breakfast DOESN'T disqualify Saturday from being his first dry day this year - woo-hoo! and if he had the same weather as I did after Abington (I don't count less drops than I'd get from the car in fronts' washer fluid as proper rain) then he notched up two consecutive dry days out - surely that must mean we're having summer? Thank you Dusty for arranging it and bringing your BBQ rig and fire pit, thanks Richard for taking me places I've never been before, and thanks Lyn for adding a little decorum to the manoeuvres. Blisteringly gorgeous day up here now and the bikes's been washed and tucked away until the next call to duty.
