He was certainly in more films than i can remember..and prolific on U.S. television too apparently...he always looked like the archetypal 'beaten down and worn out'characters he played so masterfully...a sad loss, laters ,H.D.Stanton.
A toast in memory of Billy Hatton, leader of a Merseybeat band called the Fourmost, who were the support act to the Beatles in the early 60s and had a few hits in their own right. He taught Ronnie Wycherley to play the guitar and then more or less frogmarched him into Larry Parnes' office armed with some demo tapes. Ronnie was duly reborn as Billy Fury. Billy Hatton was a good mate of mine, and he died suddenly a few days ago aged 76. Loads at his funeral yesterday, including Gerry Marsden and a wreath from P J Proby. RIP
Richard Gordon ... Intergalactic pilot of Apollo 12, an all round nice guy who apparently never once complained that he didn't get to land on the moon. RIP Space Pilot x
