My first cake attempt was from a "Guiness Cake" recipe which my sister provided along with ingredients as a Christmas pressie However a couple of ingredients were "missing" so I substituted the guiness with Jack Daniels (in same qty) and the mixed spice with garam massala Didnt taste too bad - but maybe best to leave it to the experts!
