It's very important this. Wild camping might be legal, but it isn't a free for all - no camper vans or vehicular access for example. But it doesn't cover midges. If you choose to wild camp you can still have the midge experience 🙂
I've located a campsite which is approximately 20 miles from Moffat. He only has 15 pitches available. Newbridge Country Park. £20/p/p/n non electric £30/p/p/n with lekky hook up Toilets and showers hot water Games room- pool table, air hockey, table tennis.... Across the road is a boozer/hotel Woodlands House. Where refreshments can be had ! I've told the guy I will email him with a figure of how many. Let me know.
That's a long way to walk back after a few too many ales 🤪 But that doesn't stop anyone camping there and then riding into Moffat for ride outs each day and just doing their own thing in the evening. We'll listen for the sound of you singing "ging gang gooley" reverberating over the hills...🤣
I have booked for 2 nights at the Independent Hostel - a twin room with en-suite. Apparently they have secure storage for motorcycles so fingers crossed. Hoping Linz may be persuaded to come and share the cost. I work on Mondays but may be able to swap my day off to make it less of a chore. May look for a stop over on the way up on Thursday. Looking forward to this.
