OK - you're talking absolute gibberish to most of us
Yes - I use a PC all day long, then come home to another one in the evening
But all I want is a website that works
Got frozen out 3 times last night
And just want to re-iterate the vote for Flouro Pink Leopardskin background for the site
Are you going to change the rest of the Site as well, Matt? Just wondering why there is a blue on blue background then Orange/peach buttons as well as yellow ones? It all seems a bit random......I know your doing all you can to make this Site better then it already is and all we do is moan at you but we just want to help.
Hi Matt Im glad the site has retained its mellow and friendly appearance-not to keen on the orange buttons though, how about apple green-did my kitchen in that looks luvverly!
stu - i was using it all last night and didnt get frozen out. Im aware of a couple of issues thats gonna take me some time to fix (Re-writing some larger scripts to make them faster).
Silvi, i was looking around some web designing sites - and orange is recommended as a colour to use with purple. Something to do with their location on the colour charts and stuff lol They sit opposite each other on a colour wheel, and are said to go well with each other. I think the contrast is nice personally. Was too strong at first, but now ive made them 20% transparent (When u hover over them they go to solid.
Iggy - i never thought of green, ill try it.
Green is better, but it's not the colour I have a problem with it's the text, it's too fancy, makes it hard to read; still don't understand why the change in the first place.
thats why ive put loads of examples up now kwak. Pick a colour, pick a text style... they can all be mixed/matched.
The change was cos the old ones were NAFF! Needed some buttons that had a 3D feel to them (And that weren't grey).
Examples 1 and 2 with a preference for example 3.
as for the stats, 0.10% ise an Iphone. poor poor fashion junkies. I occasionally pop on line with my Windows Mobile 5 device. 0.11% using Linux. Well done those people. I will have to go online more with my Linux machime and boost the stats.
Tux for president
Matt, Example 3 for me.. and between orange/green ... Green!
I think the text for these kinds of functions should be kept simple,
think about dyslexia?!?
It's good to have fancy logos for headings, but for functions, simple is best !
Also, why don't you have a few polls on the go, showing how the voting is going so far... ( eg, tshirt colours/style, button colours, etc)
just to recap...
Example 1 (Black text with white edge, vs white text with black border)...http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/btntmp1.jpg
Example 2 (Black text, no border)... http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/btntmp2.jpg
Example 3 (Verdana Font, Black text, white border)... http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/btntmp3.jpg
Example 4 (Green background,Verdana Font, white text, black border)... http://www.bikermatch.co.uk/btntmp4.jpg
Or any combination thereof
Matt,
Gotta say the orange buttons totally clash with the blue background, but maybe a darker blue button background or purple/turquoise (stick with the blue spectrum) would be better "I soooo hate graphics. Trying to learn though" shame there isn't a site called www.websitecoloursbynumbers.com lol. A darker text on the buttons would be better as well. There ends the voting by Cassie & I .
coloursfordummies.com lol
The orange is growing on me now, and it's what was recommended by such a website actually.
Gonna try green next - but it takes me a full 30mins-1hour creating a full new set of buttons so i need to be sure next time
I'm not too concerned about the colour, but the typeface you're using on the buttons I find over-fussy. Generally when I'm designing a page with text over a tone it's best to stick to a simple sans serif face. The face (font) in the main text panel is Geneva: maybe for the buttons Geneva Black? The white colour with a keyline doesn't really convince me, either.
That's it...I'm off to bed!
