Way to go Kaz,just back from a wee blast myself and its brill out there. You have fun and remember and tell us all about it.
Oh Xk,what are we going to do with you.
Geoff,is that lucky Mark or good luck Mark!
Tricky one organising a day/date for this one, all these bloomin biker types organising rallies and stuff.....pah!
How does Good Friday (April 10th) grab everyone?
The voice in my head said 'If you book it, they will come!', but I just wanted to float the day/date first.
Herne....the soul purpose of the bike is not just Rallies.. I want to go to a rallie on it and I WILL
I don't see the point of riding to a rally when I don't feel 'ready' in myself.
You and others may think 'what a waste of a ride' but i don't want to be taking my bike to a rally, then spending the weekend worrying about whether I'm gonna be ok riding it home, will i get stuck on the field? will i have alcohol in my system? I'm new to biking and I still have a lot to learn. I am still getting used to the controls and have yet to ride it laden with anything let alone a tent, doss bag etc..
I WILL take it to rallies, but when I'm ready!
I have just come back from a really good ride out with a couple of really good mates..and I loved it!! BUT.. I'm still learning..and I will do it at my pace.
Dugald, just chuck a sickie and come out to play.
I can easily arrange a different date (no event posted yet) if popular demand dictates. I appreciate there may be a fair few people either working, church-ifying or pigging out on hot X buns on Good Friday. It was just a suggestion as the only decent dates after that are in May.
kenn52 is organising a ride-out to Hawes then back to his place for a BBQ Easter Monday 13th April . Could do a North meets South at Hawes and combine the two events .
Can I come an play?? no cruiser this time so I no waitin for me!
I need to ride them roads again, but on somethin comfier! lol an I'd never find em on my own! lol
Thought the purpose of the bike kaz was so you could go to rallies on it ............What a waste
herne whats u with u man ? going to a rally on a bike is a big step i know some of u "advanced riders" have trouble riding on grass , riding in rain , dont like people watching you .......
its not a waste in my opinion (but thats MY opinion) kaz u do what u want hun just be safe and enjoy after all ur the only person thats knows what ur comfortable in doing
PMSL! Would anyone be sad enough that their entire "purpose" of riding a bike would be so that they can get to feckin' rallies?! That's got to be a joke post, surely!
I'm with Nina and would also add that before you (or anyone else new to riding) considers taking their pride and joy along to a rally, they put in a LOT of practice with their ride fully laden. It's a whole different kettle of fish, riding solo to riding while carrying full camping kit! Then you've got to factor in all the stuff Nina's mentioned... it's no mean feat! (Says she, the seasoned veteran, clutching her tattered & faded CBT certificate forlornly )
Probably best not to mention my dim and distant misspent youth, when I'd pilly up with a learner to get to the Kent Custom... Very lucky never to have been stopped! They'd have thrown the bloody book at us!
Everyone learns at their own pace. Funny how some "veteran" riders forget they were once learners.
Kaz,ride it where and when you like. Your bike, your choice.
Hey Paul, course you can come and play
Have to agree with all thats been said by nina, wannabe and ricdude,we all gotta start somewhere, gentle encouragement is one thing, trying to push people beyond their own confidence levels is something else entirely.
HI all have you got a date sorted for this yet.
What about Fastjock's ideacould for easter mon, our group going up to Haws any way, then back to mine for BBq all welcome.
Right you lot who think me a B*stard I will try and explain the reason for my earlier post........firstly karey needed a proverbial kick up the ass to get out on the bike and from reading the later posts it worked.....Secondly I know what Karey is capable of and she's a natural plus she enjoys it..........So if getting her to get on the bike and go and enjoy herself is wrong then I hold my hands up and I'll say I'm wrong.
Also One should not make judgements without knowing the full story first.
Here endeth the lesson.
