well my next tattoo is a bit gruesome, right lower arm, its gonna look like the skin has been ripped open and all muscles exposed...( am i wrong in the head ??? ), i have the design on my phone, but its 2 x 2 hours sit ins, and on the inside of the arm..ouch
I have a crucifix on the left forearm and a peacock on the right , done when i was 17 yrs old in Kirkaldy Scotland , tattoo parlours were illegal in Edinburgh in the 60's . I tried having the peacock removed by laser treatment and never should have , besides the ugly scar marks on my arm it was much more painfull than having them put on .Until very recently in SA tattoos were associated with a prison term lol
I have a pegasus on my right shoulder, means a lot to me as it was designed by a friend of mine who is no longer with us, as a divorce gift, as I wanted something unique.
I will never regret having it done but I did regret not looking after it when I 1st had it done as several years ago it needed redoing & it took me many visits to many places before I found someone who would redo it & keep the design as there is lots of fine detail.
I also have my belly button pierced, a christmas gift off my sons about 6 years ago.
Have been looking for something for the base of my back but cannot find something 'right' so my youngest id going to design something for me, but I want something that I can eventually have put onto Vinny's tank too.
I love my tattoos I have 10 now, and all but two have been drawn by myself, and traced on by the tattooist. In my line of work, wearing jewellery can be dangerous, so I now have rings and a bracelet tattooed on. I also had a rip tattoed on my "ring" finger, when I split with my husband last year. Most of mine are on my forearms, as I want to be able to see them, after all, I drew them cos I liked them! The only one that I didn't draw the actual picture for is at my throat, and I'm glad it is, cos I could have drawn it better and it'd annoy me if I could see it all the time! I am always being complimented on them, because they all match in colour, and aren't your "run of the mill" tatts.
i have many myself ,for me its a personal thing not too look hard ,people do judge us bikers a lot but i think it makes us stronger people ,my fav at the mo is a screaming skull with tounge piercings an pony tail on inside of bicep ,the best 1 for me was when i had my full chest done when i was 20 ,shirt off hot day old people used too cross over the road ??? jugemental who knows ??????
i love tattoos.. only have one at the minute.. a black and grey lions head, ( im a leo ) but i want loads more!
I have an ongoing design but i want to find a good tattooist.. and obviously it aint gonna be cheap, so needta save up.
I like to see bodies covered in tats, especially back pieces or full sleeves.. its good to know the story behind each one too... as they are indeed works of art, most of them.
I particularly like Kat von D's stuff.. not only her personal tattoos, but her artwork, portraits in particular, is incredible.
As i kid i usedta draw over my dads tats.. and he sed he wud have my artwork (scribbling) turned inta a tattoo, unfortunatly he died before that happened.. bless him lol
I agree Kaz, Kat is an outstanding artist you should read High Voltage Tattoo by her, its a good read.
My youngest (who is 19 soon) has an ongoing one that he is designing himself on his arm it started off as a small thing then has expanded & will eventually become a full sleeve with the words Teneo vestri which means know yourself in Latin will look good once its all done.
i have 8 tatts and more planned. all my tatts mean something to me, and while a couple were basic designs i always modify them to suit me. my tatt artist has done all my tatts and he knows me which i feel helps coz i trust him completely, so much that my daughters also go to him now. my first tattoo was 27 years ago which i did myself then had covered over 7 years later, i dont regret my tatts as i chose them specifically, time and stage of life n all that.
i do remember being looked at like an alien 20 years ago but now they are fashionable its much more acepted.
LOL CC .. I was the same ... mine was 1st done 16 years ago & althought it had become more fashionable at the time, I was looked at the same way because I didnt want a fairy, rose or butterfly doing & at the time it was quite a big tattoo for a woman to have
personally love tats the more the better, i have 10 with others lined up to do but i do spend along time thinking baout wat to have done now as i have a few scars on my arms where i had 1s i regretted cut out 10yrs ago. so think very carefully as getting rid of em bloody hurt
Ah that old chestnut... Guy noticing guy next to him at the urinals also has the letters Wy showing on his tackle and remarks "Oh - is your wife called Wendy too?"
Fella responds with "No man, mine says 'Welcome to Jamaica, have a nice day'"
anybody remember seeing this one on their emails...another classic.. tho im not entirely sure if its a tattoo or just body paint..
