No mate, any flat engine that has opposed cylinders that reach TDC at the same time, be it a twin, a four, a six etc.
Subaru Impreza for example is a boxer engine.
so one of the very few thing i know about my superdream engine is that it is unusual in that both pistons fire at once, is there a special name for this,is it a good or bad thing?

Both cylinders fire at the same time but only one cylinder is on the combustion stroke.
Isit a good or bad thing .. neither really, its done for simplicity & cheapness in production.
Although any performance engine will have a 'single fire' sequential ignition system.
Napier built them for locos Delta as the cylinders form a triangle.
What about opposed pistons in a single cylinder with bell arms and a single crankshaft?
Did anyone build an horizontally opposed engine with common crank pins. I always tried to imagine what my old BMW boxer would have run like with a single crank pin. I bet it would be uncontrolable but a right laugh!
