It's not the narrow bridge you have to worry about, it's the long drop to the rapids below.
ps - it's a rope bridge.
pps - some of the planks are missing.
ppps - the rope is a bit frayed at one end.
''If you go drobess make sure your camping behind the pub because if you end up in the field the access to the pub is over a narrow bridge and it could be a problem getting across. infact tell me if your going and i will save you a space Shell unless they clear the field cars would'n be able to get in check with Simon''
Bill, any chance you can tell us what you are referring to??? You make it sound like there is 'stuff' in the field. What do you know, please enlighten us. Thanks
I have Emailed the pub for an answer if cars are allowed to drop stuff off in the field and park elsewhere (if there is anywhere to park) and they have a caravan park - for a cost of using electric. That was Tuesday evening - no answer as yet.
There has to be a gate to let the tractor in to the field to cut the grass so we should be able to get cars in there !
They do not seem very forthcomming with answere do they !!!!
There is a gate from the road to the field if we can use it, I think for Drobess it would be easer for her if she was behind the pub as there is only a bridge between the field and pub. Simon is still sorting out the access and parking for us
I've just had a reply to my e-mail from the pub. Cars are definately not permitted on the field. The field is not owned by the pub and this is a rule of the land owner. Bikes on the field are fine. Cat at the pub is going to make some phone calls locally to arrange for some overspill parking for cars. I'm going to take another ride over there this Sunday to have another look seeing as it was hammering down with rain last time I went and I didn't venture outside much.
I'll ensure a space is reserved behind the pub for Drobess. If anyone else has any mobility problems please let me know and I'll make sure they are in the pub garden not the field. Mobility problems due to alcohol intake are excluded; lol.
It's been mentioned to me in a PM that the pub do not allow camping stoves on the site. I did mention this early in the forum thead but just dropping it in again to remind people. Tea and Coffee is made available free of charge if people are up and about before the pub opens for breakfast, and as they provide the facilities free of charge including a cost they have to pay for the use of the field they only allow food purchased on the premises to be consumed on the premises.
They're used to bike rallies so I'm sure they'll be fine on the catering side of things, and at only 3.50 for breakfast it's not bad. Somewhere near the start of this thread there's a copy of the dinner menu and prices.
Buying all the "Camping Equipment" needed to camp this week.. don't even have warm socks!! But it's a "life investment"
