I can't gauge how fast as a group we will be so won't be able to work out an arrival time. Can't expect hotel to sit and wait for such a large group to arrive.
Monday I've decided to do some roads I've never been on before so that will be fun..... err I hope
John most of what we're doing is main through ways to get around so your sat nav should be fine. For the price of them these days it's really easy to get one I use Tom Toms XXL and it's fab for £120

Hello All...Been following this thread with interest. I hope you all have a lovely time, and enjoy yourselves! For those of you who haven't driven in Europe before, it can be a little daunting, multiple roundabouts for instance, are 'interesting'...I've put down some tips below which I hope are of help to you all.
I advise you to make sure A, you have with you your EHIC card, as it will get you medical treatment free (up to a basic level) whilst in the EU should you need it. It's free and more info can be found here: http://e111.org.uk/....If the 'link' doesn't work, Google it instead. Plus, if you have personal accident insurance, make sure the insurers know your going in to the EU on a motorcycle, you may find your not covered for that risk, so I advise you to check!
B. Get an 'anti-puncture' product fitted to the tires on your bike, I use 'Puncture Safe' myself...standing on the side of a hugely busy auto-route staring at your flat tire in the rain, when hundreds of miles from the ferry and home isn't fun...trust me...And, carry a small CO2 inflator kit with you as well...sods law dictates you will get a 'flat' miles from anywhere! And if you don't use it, another biker in your group may be very glad you brought it!!
C. Make sure your bike insurers know your going to Europe, the small print on your policy may require you to inform them (it alters the risk category significantly).
D. Similarly, make sure you let your breakdown service provider know your going abroad, to ensure you have the appropriate level of cover for the countries your going to, seems insignificant mentioning it here now, but, won't be if your bike conks out in Germany etc.. and you don't have full European cover! E. Don't place absolute faith in your bikes fuel gauge....!
Think it's all pretty much sorted now and 22 peeps going.
I have got some fantastic runs lined up and the guided tour on Tuesday is not to be missed. This run is part of the hotel booking and will be led by locals to the area. Will be castles, mountains, forests, valley views and some fantastic biking roads
Not long now also as I dunno about u guys but can't believe it's not that far away now
Hello Guys/Gals, There seems to be some confusion about Hi-Viz clothing being compulsory on motorcycles in France and Ireland.
The law for his comes into force in France next January and Ireland in 2014.
Of course its currently a very personal thing whether you do or do not wear it at present.
Cannot hurt to wear it for safety reasons anyway as we have all experienced visibility issues on two wheels, especially when touring abroad. Being looked straight through and having a vehicle pull out of a side road or u turn in front of you, as if you are non-existent.
But nice to know we still have a choice to make our own minds up for now.
We will be in France for all of 25 mins and you'll find Europe doesn't have the same mentality towards bikers as the Uk does.
I have done 10's of thousands of miles over there and never had a single issue The other side of it we will be 23 bikers going down the road you aint gonna miss that.
How ever there is currently no law requiring bikers on this trip to make you wear hi viz and it is completely down to your own choice. I will be wearing a hi viz vest so that you have something to follow and I'm aware that too many vests will confuse the issue.
Please also bear in mind there will be other biker groups around so you need to keep a tight group. I will sort some chats at start of holiday so people can air their views and I will pass on tips then as to biking abroad.
It's a bag of pee and if you have a worry send me a Pm so I can help This is my 6th tour to where we're going so I hope that says it all
2 new tyres fitted, just need scrubbing in.... cant wait for this trip, many thanks Chris for all the organising!!
sorry to hear you wont be able to make it Highwayman - hope you are OK!

the only no no are speed camera detectors illegal in france and germany they carry a 1500 euro fine and in belguim it is an offence to take your hands/hand of the handle bars , hence the leg wave lo
