For those of you who may, perhaps later in the year be considering touring France, an article written by Kevin Ash in Motorcycle News yesterday (page 19) is well worth a read. The French, apparently, have decided to adopt a 'get tough' attitude it would seem. Their Minister for Transport, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet appears to be very anti-vehicle/motorcycles....The days of biking through France in a care-free manner may well be soon over....

Really looking forward to this. My insurance renews in June and they have quoted me £12 for European recovery insurance up to next renewal. Bargain!! Earlier comment re "worth weight in gold" (or something of that ilk) made me look into it... so thanks for that. Thanks also for organising this and opening the doors to all to join in.... looking forward to meeting everyone, having a blast and a beer or 5, and hopefully returning with my Scottish accent renewed

PS Re visibility... afraid I'm old school. A great friend - Jeff - first got me into riding bikes. He told me that if they can't see you, they have less to aim at. Problem with visibility is that instinctively people veer towards a light. Take this with a pinch of salt but.. don't imagine that just cos they can see you, they won't hit you. Just cos you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. Ride safe: make sure you can avoid them, don't expect them to avoid you.... xxx

I've been getting in some 400 mile runs on new bike as want a set of new tyres and a service on it before I go. My Ins also was just up so all sorted with full cover and breakdown
