PS,
Leave M6 at junction 36, follow A590 to Newby Bridge, turn right at first crossroads at Haverthwaite marked Bouth then turn right again at first junction signed Grizedale and Satterthwaite, sign at entrance, Grizedale Camp Site.

Seems straightforward enough, hopefully nobody arriving in the dark!

Castlerigg seems a lot sloping!!
Sykeside 14 quid a nite!!! im a Scotsman u know!!!!!
Dent uve already been there!!!!

Only an opinion!!

I think the yoga people are generally pretty quiet, they'll be the ones feart o' the bikers!
But if you spot a Yogi don't feed it.

Is it Grizedale then? I need to plan things to get down before you all laugh at me pitching a tent in the dark.
Can we just give an indication of numbers but turn up without booking?

I think The Grizedale site is over a mile to the pub.
A long stagger in the dark on a narrow lane with no footpath.
Even worse if it rains.

From the North or east M6 Jct 40
Ullswater , kirkstone , the struggles , Ambleside turn left.
Follow signs for Coniston. (one way system)
At Clappersgate follow signs for Hawkshead.
Just thru The village turn off for Grizedale village and Satterthwaite (pronounced Satturth't).

At the Kirkstone pass Inn , (good spot for a cuppa , enjoy the view) turn immediately right , or you'll end up in Windermere village.

We often used to wild camp on the fells above Coniston village , it's common land and still allowed.
Not really suitable for women ( skill with a spade etc required lol )

Then there's the pub at Irehoreburn in Weardale. Field attached, which we can use. Biker friendly.

Have concerns about reaching thr Grizedale site at a reasonable time and would prefer sometime I could reach in daylight. Maybe bank that one for springtime?
Not too bothered about local access to pubs - I can't be trusted in pubs - a drink around a fire is good enough for me.

There appears to be 3 sites in Dent, not sure which one you guys used before, do they allow open fires, if so i'd be happy there,

Izzy, Grizedale is 139 miles from Hamilton, at legal speeds thats 2hours 42 mins, as Dusty says, depends when you leave, but its still light till 7pm ish in Sept.

Looks like theres some fence sitting going on!!!! hello !!!!

I finish my primary job at half-two (plenty of time to get anywhere) but I have a secondary one up to five - and I'm off this Friday and on the 27th so need to put in a couple hours on 20th but you lot just pick somewhere and if I don't get there on Friday night I'll be bright and early(ish) on Saturday for brekkie. :-)

Going by this morning's rain ,and the forecast, It might be better to wait a while before posting on the event page . Sandi needs 7 days notice. Mountains and rain are never a good combination. Lol

Bloody 'ell, I'm off line for a couple of days and loads happens

Well I suggest Dent. No fires (unfortunately) and we will be visiting the pubs (sorry Izzy, you'll just have to manage ).

The web address is http://www.highlaning.com if you want to check it out.

I'll have to confirm with work that I can get the Friday 20th afternoon off, but worst case I would either turn up late.

Shall I contact them to reserve an area and put it on the the events page? or ?

OK - but there'd better not be any kilted Scotsmen around!
If this is good for everyone else it's good for me - but can we get cheese(cake) at Hawes this time? Pretty please.
