Instruction last year for BMers was, 2nd entrance to the Fire field, about 50yds along on the right, big black BM flag kindly erected by Bikerbill I believe it was. Instructions were spot on and being a solo newbie it was great to feel I'd found my 'spot' in the melee.
There was a section taped off with limited space, but there were also BMers camping together in the non-fire field (some having arrived Thursday before fire field is open, other preferring not to be near fires) and just dotted about generally or with their own friends etc. Think it's nice to keep any designated BM spot for potential newbies and peeps travelling solo.
There's time yet for the rest of us to liaise on camping arrangements but, unless you've got tape or turn up together, it could be difficult to try to hold space for friends yet to arrive!
I didn't camp with BM crew last year but I intending on doing so this year (oh no, please don't all clasp your heads in horror!) I assume BikerBill will have the flag up and erect quite early (he is sooo efficient )
Planning on getting there early afternoon this year, if Stuie is on the ball that is but no doubt there is time for plans to change
It doesn't really matter if not camping all together as we can arrange meet ups on site in beer tent etc or even in the village for a catch up and chinwag. I'm really looking forward to this ... my kipper is giddy.
The mud doesn't always appear and when it does the spirit of The Farmyard Party is never ever dampened.
I LOVE this rally, I went to the first one at Cat Babbleton Farm circa 1987 at Foxholes and how things have changed over the years; entertainment is now undercover in numerous marquees as are the bars, plenty of room for everyone to drink and dance. Also undercover areas for eating and chatting. It's a well organised event and those who marshall endeavour to ensure that the rally is a 'party' in every sense of the word.
Mud appears at most rallies at some stage of their 'lives' not just The Farmyard Party. I remember Stormin' The Castle and The Rock and Blues Custom Show being entrenched with mud and a few disheartening local club rallies along the way too but we partied on and battled the elements, as bikers do.
Of course we gonna be together i need my wee man, mad burd n possibly a ginger kid to keep me on the straight n narrow!! Besides who will protect me from The Man Mountain that is Owen?!
Its creeping up on us folks. Ive got three bottles of jack squirrelled away, sleeping bag at the ready, n my rally hats are packed, not that im excited about this rally at all ** shakes head wildly from side to side** NO. Kipper is giddy though ((wink))
