Rachel, are you a car driver already? If you are, and you can ride a pedal cycle, then you're three quarters of the way there already.
You've got the road sense, you know how to balance a two-wheeler, and the skills of juggling throttle, gears and clutch read straight across - it's just getting used to the way that the levers are all in different places.
Go for it - you'll probably find it easier than you think.

Yes Wills, I'm a car driver and can ride a bike - just! I even know about counter steering now and I sort of understand the controls. I like to learn about things I don't understand so when I started going out on my ex's bike, I quizzed him to death about things. I can be like a 5 year old - why why why! lol!
