To answer Mr_P, I didn't notice squeaky discs on the Z650. It was an F4 with twin front discs and a drum on the rear so it may have been an improvement on earlier models. As for the KH400, I never seized the middle cylinder but it did have a tendency to jump out of gear.
On the latest, I knew someone who had a CD200 Benley (successor to the CD185) which I got to maintain and sometimes ride. It was a brilliant little bike with a pleasant exhaust note from the aftermarket cans, easy to look after, economical and with none of the cam chain problems that afflicted Hondas at that time.
Ok so here's my short list of bikes.
Honda SS50
CB175
CB400F
CB250NA
CX500
XL185
KAWASAKI Z650
GPZ750A4
GPZ900R
GPX750R
YAMAHA RD250
HONDA CBX 550
SUZUKI GSX250
YAMAHA DIVERSION
FAZER
THUNDERCAT
KAWASAKI ZX636A1P
That's it upto now. I don't think i've missed any off.
I've been riding for nearly 18 yrs now, so it's a long list!
Yam DT125R (x6)
Suz DR350 (x5)
Yam XT350 Hopeless, with only 17hp!
Yam TDR250 (x2) Two stroke twin YPVS, wow!
Hon CR250 I bought this from a shop, stripped it, fully rebuilt it, then the builders doing the roof nicked it, the plod found it in Guisborough, so I got it back, re-built it again and flogged it. I rode it for 1 mile only!
Yam WR200 (x2)
Yam DT200WR (x2)
Kaw KMX200 (never again)!
Kaw KX500 (I'd rather forget about that one, but I'm obviously still alive)!!!!
Kaw KDX 220SR
Suz DRZ400 (x4) rubbish build quality and reliablility!
Yam WR250Z My first proper enduro bike.
Yam WR250F (x2)
Yam WR450F (54) Still got it, and it's almost the best off-roader I've ever had, the best was a Yam YZ125.
KTM 200EXC (x2)
KTM 125EXC VERY good woods bike, and I should have kept it but it wasn't any good for doing long road sections during trail rides.
Yam XT600 Bit slow till I got the restrictors removed.
Hon XL600V Transalp (x3)
Yam XTZ750 (x3) Old classics, but very prone to rotting away.
Hon NTV650 Deauville (x2) Mini Pan, couriers favourites.
Hon XL1000V Varadero (x2) Lovely, plenty of grunt, high up and tough. Wrote off a Micra with one, (17yr old doing a 3-pointer 30' after a blind bend), I know the bike went back on the road again because the new owner contacted me to ask how it had got it's fairing smashed and forks bent.
Hon ST1100 (x3) Good
Hon ST1100A (x3) Even better, just gives a little bit more confidence, the CBS ones are better still, but the brakes are a sod to work on!
Hon STX1300A Big smile! Good for a 240M non stop blast over to the west side and back, or a 400 mile steady day. Mines an ex-service model, but it's a A2 (civilian) not AP (police) so not as hairy round rough corners, but it has tried to 'wobble/weave'. This is just like riding a bike with knackered swing arm bearings, and does it only on one corner, (near Thirsk). There will be loads that I've forgotten about, especially off-roaders.
Good grief Paj...thats very very impressive.....no wonder Ive never seen anyone ride a Pan so well before! (Following you on way back from Whitby on back of NK!)

not many due to late starter in biking, finances (lack of lol!) and being vertically challenged aka short a..ss!!!) but, never theless they served me well and got me into the biking fraternity:-
Honda CG125 - little old lady, kick start only but taught me the knack!!
Ducati Monster SDI650 (I think!?) first big bike but even after full lowering job, still only reached the ground on tip toes so a bit dody with cambers in road etc!
Harley Davidson Sporters Low 883 - my perfect bike, feet firmly on the ground and love her to bits!!!
that me!!
