jus realised this thread aint about getting old flower designs off old Volkswagen RV's!!! as fer rallys aint never been on one so could be ripe for a 'initation' if i ever show up on one! but the thought wouldnt put me off! if jus campin would!!
Think of what your missing TM : overloaded bike , arriving tired , que-ing to pay & enter , finding a tent spot , offloading bike & pitching tent , searching for mates , wet weather ...the list goes on. Aaah but its all worth it once your settled in ! lmao
Too right exc! I love it! Even camped in heavy snow ( ELL last year)
There's just something good about a group of bikers gettin together for a weekend.. good music (usually, lol) entertainment.. ride out if you want.. custom shows.. games.. beer...and the general good craic.
Families take their children .. most of you who go will have seen the 'Dennis the Menace' family??
Mum on bike and side car, dad on bike and sidecar, and their 3 children..and they all wear red/black stripey jumpers.. lovely family.
Or anyone seen the 'Whirlybirds'? cant remember their names..but a lovely couple in the late 60's/70's? they been goin to rallies for years.. both covered in badges/patches.. and both have pony tails which they 'spin round' as theyre dancing! LOL brilliant couple!
Theres so many 'regulars' same people you will see over and over again who will soon become your friends.. after all.. we're all bikers..makes us all part of one big family.

So I think the message from this thread is........If you were considering not attending because of the stories of satanic rituals and ghoulish initiation ceremonies, don't worry as it seems the majority of people on here do not condone any type of individual ceremony and anyone contemplating suggesting it to you are in the minority and will be swiftly outnumbered! Get your ticket booked and have a great relaxing weekend with a great bunch of friendly people who'll look after you and make you feel welcome I hope lol

Quite right Kaz ... & as a family we all look out for eachother ... hence why nothing bad will happen
"overloaded bike , arriving tired , que-ing to pay & enter , finding a tent spot , offloading bike & pitching tent , searching for mates , wet weather"
Lightly packed bike, quick trip over a ferry, lovely ride in glorious sunshine through wonderful scenery, find the well equipped hotel and your large, comfortable ensuite room where you relax after the long ride for an hour or so, meet your mates downstairs in the restaurant for an enjoyable meal and finish the evening sitting out in the warm air with a cold drink chatting with friends.
Yes, suddenly I can understand the benefits of rallying in the uk compared to european touring holidays lol!!!
reet just read this thread n i agree with Kaz, NO-ONE will be forced to endure anyhting they dont want to and as for what kind of task cud happen just ask HFG, anyone doing or even threatening to do sumthing to sum1 which even makes them feel uncomfortable or not welcome will deffinately be dealt with. we DO NOT condone such antics, what ever horror stories have been heard, exagerated or experienced will not take place at any of our meets or rallies and no-one will be thought of any less if they prefer not to take part in a task,
reet that sed if i can wear a dress (believe me that is a big deal for me)...RK u up for a giant nappy, huge safety pin n dummy, i rekon u'd look soooooooooo cute..(to clarify this is banter as i think RK HAS a sence of humour)
*running away now b4 RK throws his bottle...unless it has vodka in it hmmmm*

Think of what I'm missing: heavy rock music, muddy shoes and clothes, slippy floor in temporary toilets, freezing cold even with all clothes on AND inside a body bag, no shower, folk stripping naked, kids, foam spray. None of which are my idea of an enjoyable weekend and the reason I don't go to rallies. One man's meat is another man's poison'
I'm with Geoff, not literally lol, even a b 'n' b is preferable to a cold, noisy camp site
lmao ur right there kwak, we must be mad but its such great fun hee hee i must have dun close on 100 rallies and i luv it.. oo is there an initiation for ur 100th lmfao sumthin like a throne n crown with loads of free beer
To be fair to rallies I've only been to one and it put me off for life.
Some folk have told me that some rallies are 'quieter' than others, some don't allow kids, but I suspect that's cos there will be more *nudity / X rated activity, some are smaller than others.
I think I was born old lol even as a teenager I wasn't in to dossing down at parties, tho I did go to them, I prefer my own bed and the warmth of a roof and four walls.
* I'm not a prude, nowt wrong with nudity but there's a time and place and it aint with total strangers in MHO

Wow Kwak, I didn't realise there'd be nudity! I think I'll get there in the middle of the night to get the tent in the best vantage point lol
Debs,
I really do have a sense of humour, honest! so there's no need to distinguish between humerous banter and serious convo lol I'm not sure you'd find a nappy big enuff to go round my arse but maybe a double quilt would just about do it There's no way would I be throwing vodka at anyone, it's all mine lol
ask not what they can do for me,but rather what can i do for them
Does that mean an RV is there for other peoples entertainment and not their own?
I know for a fact that there are one or two people on here that have never been to a rally and are considering going just to support the BM rally. Now they are having second thoughts. How many others on this site read the threads but don't post have also been put off, RV's or not.
Makes you wonder if you have lost any custom because of this. Maybe not but who knows.
I know that those who agree with it are entitled to their opinion but when it comes from people that are representing the "friendlies" it doesn't come across so friendly does it?
I myself am also a member of a patch club and we will never humiliate one of our own in this way,in public or not and as Cissiestar says will not be tolerated having it done by any other club or member of the public.
Sorry if this sounds abrupt BUT the thread is going round & round in circles & is getting no place fast.
We all have our own opinions of what can/cannot happen to an RV at rally
whats important for those wanting to go to the BM rally is that :-
No matter what you have heard, no matter what anyone says , you will not be made to undergo anything that you dont want to !!
As I said in an earlier post .. you dont have to say I dont want this, that or the other , .. its my 1st rally & I just want to enjoy it says the same thing.
Yeah its going round and round in circles, but surely a good healthy discussion does that without fear of people trying to stop it (or is it me lol)... I am watching and reading with interest... but I have to say...what BM Rally are you talking about? (As a clearky defined 'noobie' - how I hate that expression lol)

cissy its on the events page under 1st Ure welcome rally, soz but don't know how to post links. Kwak seems great at doing that lol
I think you're right about trying to stop something that's going in circles. It seems to me that out of this 'debate' springs elements of peoples personalities that helps to get to know people better. I think the masses will decide when it stops, all democratic eh!
