I also like that the bikermatch has been kept as the site logo and not changed as that's what people see when they log on, only if changing the whole logo should the t shirt one be used, I like that the site's proud that it's a UK based site, how come that was not used on the t shirts?
it was gonna be but the printers decided against it, colours etc. Went for a simpler design.
If anyone can find a better foto, that is vertical in size and with a black background then please let me know.

I think XK has a photo very similar to the one on the front page, taken last month at Tan Hill when some of us where up there again.

The issue with using pics posted on bm Kaz is that the person IN the pic has not given the ok for it to be used for commercial purposes and that is a breech of privacy so Matt would be leaving himself wide open for a legal case.

thinking back it was a little add in the back with no picture that made me look this one looks to much like a date site soft porn picture
would be better to get willing members to meet up and take a good genral group shot with couples single and genraly odd types in there too
and push the meet like minded friendly bikers with a few quotes from peeps on site who have been there done that and are happy
there maybe legal problems with useing peeps from site but surly you know who they are and get permision first anyway ?
Actually Shell it's not about privacy, English law doesn't give you the right to privacy when in a public place, but it's libel if you use somebody's image in a way that causes perceived harm.One thing I noticed about the ad: it says "Over 100 events every month" followed by "Plus news, events, forums...". That looks a bit odd.

We all appreciate that you are trying to develop the site for all of our benefits, so come on folks lets help rather than hinder, positive feedback is what we need :)
I agree, why don't we just The next big meet or night out have a waver that says that those pics can be used for an advert, and do some group shots and couples shots, have those people sign and then let matt have those pics separately to use?
Well with that in mind i shall ask everyone who is going bowling tomm if they mind there pics being used and give those that do a chance to back out from some of them if that helps :)
Guess you could just do one thing saying that they give consent for pics from the bowling night out july 3rd to be used for BM promotions and advertising and have everyone who agrees sign it and print thief name then just one doc covers all?
Its not gonna work with fotos from events, they're not professional, dont have the right lighting, location, etc.
We need professional photos to be taken which have been photoshopped and look great already.
We've got the weekend to get this done, no longer really. It has to be approved by the magazine and put to publishing etc.
Remember this is FULL PAGE in bike mag, its not a small banner or 1/8th page ad. It's full size, so everyone's face will be clearly identifyable and would have to give permission.
A group photo, at least all the ones I have, are horizontal. Great they'll fit the top of the page, but then theres the rest of the page.
I need a vertical image to use, preferably with a black background. feel free to find a better one... www.istockphoto.com Doesn't matter about the price (within reason) if it's good. Put in something like "motorcycle group" or "motorcycle couple" etc. Try different keywords and see what you can come up with.
Matt, wouldn't it be easier, possibly not cheaper tho, to hire a PR company to advertise for you, give THEM the headache of coming up with a logo/photo etc to suit YOU?; or ask them to give you a few ideas as to how to promote the site to the best advantage and to suit your wallet.
P S as GBeldon already said, the second reference to events seems odd, it should be removed.
Matt have checked out your ad preview, my comments, as always, with respect;
the couple may just be 'too pretty and perfect' for us ordinary mortals, off putting rather than alluring lol however be guided by the powers that be in advertising.
40,000 members.... thats 'quite frightening' really, what about a 'good ol fashioned clean up' and get rid of all inactive members that just havn't bothered to delete but obviously long gone.

100 events... this seems to imply we organize this many but infact in the main they are listed from public events (that we can attend as a group)
no mention of one of as you say i think 'big draw' which is searching for free! (i still maintain this is just giving the site away)
maybe includ subscription fee so ur been upfront and people dont feel like oh look free but got to pay in end to gain full access what about pic u use for banner on site?as varied mix of people on it?
