Just testing to see if this works made it in MS word but don't think it'll work or show up on here if I just paste it ?? nope that didn't work.I'll try later
Couldn't do that so I think I have been rather clever by taking a photo of the document on the screen and uploading/copy and pasting it here
Anyway, the gist of it is to helmets facing each other and each with a "call-out balloon" with a kiss and a ? mark in them, or something along those lines.
The kiss is to represent the Kiss rally by the way, as well as the obvious question of romance etc.
There could be just one kiss at the front of the helmet where the chin guard is to represent a relationship ???
Or what-eva

Shows two riders in harmony.
Can be made gender specific.
Can be a rear view instead
I know you're loving the idea of two bikers on a bike in silhouette but I reckon you should probably come up with a few real rough and ready scamps before you spend the energy producing the new logo polished. I'm no creative but I think you should consider a few vaguer routes first, couple of thoughts: Just the letters BM, stylised, perhaps make them look like a manufacturers badge.Take the letters and render them as if in situ on a bike, like the GSX-R logo, include just enough around it to suggest it's on a bike. Can be done with just a few lines perhaps.Distort the letters to suggest the shape of something related to biking. All those ideas could be complete crap when looked at but this is a new corporate identity and shouldn't be rushed...
Btw, I only meant new logo possibly meaning new site design work, not bringing in non-bikers. Although if you have it monochrome it's not going to look clashy ;p

Bike orientated clip art silhouettes. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
When corporate identity is referred to, who the site is aimed at should be considered. Surely the new image is to primarily to attract new full members and possibly the sale of merchandise. It is we the members who are likely to buy the merchandise and not corporations. What I am asking is. Who is the new image aimed at corporations or members? Image will be viewed differently by either party. Members will look at the romantic approach and would probably like to see something they can relate to, whereas corporate image between organisations is very different, maybe impressed by a logo that appears smart and professional. But surely the BM site is all about fun and enjoying life in the company of others, therefore I think the logo / image should depict that.

Your links don't work david - first one links to the "My gallery" page not your own profile, but i figured it was in your gallery and i found it. The 2nd Google link doesn't work but I've been googling all day and didn't get far.
SayTen - i know what you're saying... problem is that B and M are hard to work with. The angles and shapes of them 2 letters don't bond well together.
A friend of mine is going to try and design me a logo next wednesday. Gonna try my own hand until then though, get scribbling.

As suggested the last time this was discussed, what about something like this

and I still like the match idea that was suggested

Matt, re: your post made 6 Jan at 14:46..
the first link shows a male riding and a female pillion...that's a bit dated as there are loads of females who ride their own bike. The second link makes the site look like it's a dating site only and not a social site.
Post 16:45
dated, sexist pic
16:47
riders aren't wearing helmets
17:00
focuses on dating side of site
23:42 I like that one (miracles do happen) altho if you use helmets you are bound to alienate someone, as I said previously there are different helmets for different bikes.
I think it would be worth spending money on to get a professional to come up with drawings/graphics after you've told them what you are looking for. They will be used to dealing with it.
I still think you should decide on a couple of pics/logos and get us to vote on it, otherwise we're just going round in circles all the time and it never gets decided on. There will be folk who don't like either offering but when you get a pic/logo that the majority vote on then it's done with.
Sandi, i need a couple of designs to decide on first before putting them to the vote. So far we just have a couple of ideas. Do you know the cost of getting a professional to make a real logo? Multiply by the number of examples you want to vote on!
I'm still liking some kind of silhouette idea, great for 2-tone t-shirt prints.
And the point about having women as pillion being dated/sexist is nonsense. It doesn't matter. Shall I put 2 women on the bike? Or two guys? Or a woman on the front? it doesn't matter... but if we stick with the "norm" people don't look at it and go "oh that's different". Yes a know many women ride bikes - but a lot of women on BM don't have a licence and are here because they like bikers
