Update: for anyone who giz a stuff lol Re: B & Q and my new lawn mower (a bit late cos I forgot to post when I got the other mower) Well...that wasn't any fun...I returned the broken mower and immediately was told to go and choose another one cos they had 34 of 'em in stock. There I was all primed for an argument in case they tried to wangle out of it. I've not had chance to try the replacement mower out yet, I wonder if they are all noisy like the other one was. 1 down 33 to go

Oo I say, the replacement mower is loads quieter, (the motor in the other one must have been naff too) aww zod it! now I can't compete with the noisy quad bike. Drat! I've never known grass grow so quick as this stuff, mind you most of it is weeds not grass so that's probably why. Anyone want any dandelions? lol

Smart Idea! (not) The government is to reveal plans for every home in the U K to have smart meters by the end of 2010. Smart meters allow suppliers to remotely record customers gas and electric use, and let customers know how much energy they are using. Some 26 million electricity and 22 million gas meters will need to be fitted at a cost of £76BILLION!! *Smart meters end the need to dispatch meter readers, meaning huge savings for energy firms who hope bills will fall. *What a great idea, I wonder how many more people the government can put out of work.

Thats roughly 7 million meters p/w or 1,5 million p/d ....sounds like a massive retrenchment to me or has my arithmetic gone haywire???

Yes it has. 48m meters in 85weeks* = 565,000 pw or 81,000 pd. *starting now Also requires 10-20 thousand qualified installers

More of a "what caused you to sigh in a resigned kind of manner" post than a rant post...

Listen chaps, if a female happens to be civil towards you in your PM exchange with her, it does NOT necessarily mean that she "fancies" you or that she's "interested" in you.

I'm getting more than a little bored of hearing 2nd and 3rd hand about how I'm supposed to fancy BM member x, y or z.

Some folk want to wind their egos in a tad, methinks.

This is not intended to be a sexist post by the way... some females are just as guilty of this silly behaviour

So stop it! If someone "fancies" you, I'm sure you'll know all about it!

couldnt agree more lou,i've actually stopped replying to pms from newbie males,as despite my profile clearly showing i am very happily in a relationship, any response is meet with an "i'm in there, when we gonna shag" attitude.Shame for the genuine guys simply looking to extend their social circle but self preservation has to come first.

I actually object to those ones less Cassie... at least they're upfront and when I respond in an equally upfront manner, it's always been taken in good spirit Or I'm forever ignored... either way works for me! Hehehe! I understand where you're coming from though.

What irritates me more are the people who you've had sporadic contact with over a period of months, on a seemingly friendly basis, who then spread it around that you "fancy" them. Including people you've never even met in "real life"! How the heck do you fancy some random bloke/woman you've never even met?!

I've made quite a few friends over the past year on this site... if you're going to talk about me behind my back, it's fairly likely I'll get to hear what you're saying eventually... So get your facts straight first, eh?!

Those ones are just not worthy of you Kwak - sod 'em

I'm liking the expression "Were they buffalo"

I may have to adopt it. Sorry Maxnod... pray continue... a damn fine rant if I may say so.

I've had quite a few things off ebay and I'm a bit pxssed off that the first time I've been stitched up is by a 'fellow biker'!! Sorry if I got in the way of you and Cassie!

Aww Max, no worries you didn't get in the way of anyone. I know what you're saying about being ripped off, it stinks! Let's hope your curse works

Hehe! No worries Max

Ah yes indeed... the fabled "fellow biker"... as if every biker ever to have walked this earth is a prime example to humanity and spreads peace & goodwill wherever he/she goes...

"Bikers" are as full of human failings as any other mortal. There are some decent sorts, some not so decent sorts and sorts that you wouldn't so much as spit on if they were on fire

And don't anyone be giving me the "Oh well, in that case they're not a *real* biker" speech, cos that's all just so much bolleaux!

I do know what you mean though! lol

Have you complained to the seller yet? Left feedback?

If yes to either of the above... Have you filed a dispute against the seller?

You'll want the "item significantly not as described" option.

(You've got his address, so you can always post poo, but this is frowned upon in polite society)

If you need a hand with ebay dispute procedures, give me a shout - I've been reading up on it all as I'm desperately trying to flog my tat quality 2nd hand items on there in the absence of employment, social or any other form of income at present!

It's certainly not the time to be selling on ebay... I'm sick to death of sending off perfectly decent pairs of boots/shoes for 99p and I'm also trying to sell off a load of old crafting gear I no longer use... I've 9 auctions running at the moment, with "watchers" on 3 of them... The starting prices are 49p and 99p... would it really hurt that much to shove a bid on?!

WB - can you not (ahem) get some 'friends' to up the bidding?? shhhhhh!!!

Oh gawd no... I upset a regular on one of the forums last week, they'll be watching my listings like hawks!

You'd think some of these people were actually being paid by ebay/paypal! You're not allowed to dis 'em man! Knowing my luck, it's the board (or bored) regulars "watching" my items.

*chortles*
