What can I say?? Just a great big THANK YOU to everyone who came. I can honestly say 'it wasn't the amount of people but the quality of the people there' that made this one of the best rallies I've ever been to!!!
I would like to thank the staff at the venue for all their hard work!!! Old Red for his time emailing and the help he gave . The guys that helped me to take my tent down before the rain came!
I'd like to also thank every single person who donated towards my flowers ..........I was totally humbled
All thats left to say is group hug!!!
Sorry if I jumped into to many of your pic's lol (enjoyed it really)
We had a good time - fact, well done Elliemay and Co.
Nice to see faces old (hello Ronald, Sevvy, Karen, XK to name but a few) and new.
A big thank you to one and all who made Alison (and Blake the dog) at their first BM rally very welcome and kindness shown to them by all.
Just read my message from Matt kind of apologising for this years rally. Says numbers were down because it was too far away, from the Midlands? Seriously? If the event had been in Devon or Kent maybe..... but only maybe. We are bikers, is a hundred or 200 miles too far?
@ ColinB, I understand what you are saying with regards KISS3 but we have members from further afield. Newcastle plus 250 miles Cardiff plus 230 miles Carlisle plus280 miles...from Bury ST Edmunds and that is not taking into consideration all the scots members we have, their journies would have been even further, I didn't attend the first 2 KISS rallies as I was not a member but in my opinion a more centralised location, although very convenient for an awful lot of members that live in the midlands, would be fairer on all members who happen to live in the extremes of the compass points.
I'm sure if we averaged out all members locations, Bury St Edmunds would probably be an as Okay venue as many other places. My worry is that people might think that changing the location would increase the numbers, only to find out that it maybe isn't the location?
Bloody lightweights. From kiss to brighton, folkestone and maidstone yesterday. Maidstone to plymouth this morning, sat in bristol services on my way home now. Does no one do long runs anymore? There was a good turnout from the southeast at kiss2 last year so it can't be that far.
It was my first KISS rally and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Met some folk who've been chatting with in the chat room and got ribbed something chronic for booking into a hotel ....... What can I say, I'm a lightweight when it comes to liking my home comforts. Had a fab time though and thanks to the organisers.
Well I enjoyed it. --- I think that the attendance figures were affected by the weather forecast more than anything else. As it turned out it wasn't NEARLY as wet and windy as they'd predicted.
Okay, so it wasn't in the Midlands (like almost everything seems to be). It wasn't THAT far away from a very large section of the country.
So. Well done to the organizers. Great to see some old friends.
Tent all packed away now. Don't know if it'll see the light of day again this year...... (southern softy !!)
You can never satisfied everyone.
If you hold it in one place everyone knows where it is. Then someone will say "Why do I always have to go there, why can't it be here?"
This was a common debate a few years back when I was a MAG rep about where to hold the AGM's.
Sadly there is no happy medium
I think a change in venue will make the ones prepared to travel travel further, and the ones who aren't prepared to travel attend so numbers will increase
Sorry we missed it everyone but circumstances stopped us going
Just reading Matt's email, will we be having it in the centre of the country or the centre of England???? I think it would be a good idea to have it earlier in the year & change locations each time so we get to see other parts of the country that we mite not visit???
If you want 'central', then I await members from Derby / Nottingham to volunteer to hold KISS4.
But I'm not holding my breath...
ps - if it were up to me, I'd say u cudda put yer name down til after you've paid. Wud sort out the men/women from the boy/girls.
Well I'm finally home after a brilliant weekend 600 miles in total, even though I almost got blown off the road a few times.
A big thankyou goes to Elliemay and Old Red for all their efforts it was brilliant
.
A big thank you goes to the boys who looked after me ...Tom, Dave, Martin, Allan and Ken ( ok lads are we ready to reform the band for Kiss 4 )
Was nice to see so many friends and make new ones
x
I had a great weekend, despite the low number of people that showed up. I had to travel 350 miles for it but still 65 miles less than last years autumn rally in Friskney and I think it was well worth it. Many thanks to the people who organised this event.
Big well done to all concerned, fantastic weekend, saw some old friends and met some new ones, and had an absolute cracking time, obviously big debate going on about where the next one should be, I would think the weather played a big part in some not going, but the organisers will know how many paid against how many turned up, the actual facilities were better the the Midlands venue, distance !!! well it was 303 miles each way for me and a bit of a soaking coming home, but a small price to pay for a great weekend, and a good excuse to do 600 miles on my bike. It was a bike event !!, "Let's have some more" Cheers
I've have never been to a "biker" rally let alone KISS .. I personally had a great time socialising and meeting new people making new friends etc
I know you can't please everyone I belong to a camping group where they do rally's throughout the year and over the years depending on location depends on numbers so what they do now is have 4 prime locations in the country and its on a rational bases so site place gets used once every four years doesn't have to be that many I'm just giving an example so you can get the idea!!
I also had no idea there was any problems with bands or cancellations etc and I was more than happy to pop a few quid in the pot .. But I can't believe people's comments or of the weather or it was to far etc .. I live in Essex yes ok luckily for me only a stones throw away .. But if had been up north or central England what ever I would have still come!!!
Hats off to the people who done a fab job or organising it all
