The issues of cars not being allowed at bike rallies has been done to death really, infact I raised it as a thread when I first joined BM.
This is not an issue related to BM events, primarillary it is MAG events that have this stipulation, but they do make allowances for blue badge holders. The smaller MCC rallies usually has carparking facilities. Those are the event rules and IMO us none riders should abide by them (even if we don't like them).
For the ITTV ralley, many friends attempted to organise a pilly ride in for me, for a few reasons, that didn't come off. However, I was able to drop all of my gear off at the entrance, park my car a little way down the road and the organisors transported my gear on a trike to where I wanted to pitch my tent.
I did have a friend with me who was 'incapacitated' at the time, but I am sure that they would have been this accommodating even if I hadn't

As I said BL, they're the rules and I know where I stand with regard to rallies. Without going in-to the whole of my personal story it's impossible to explain just how much effort has been required so far. Now you know I'm not a "moaner" but that's what I've been accused of and that has wound me up a-bit.
Anyway, using hindsight perhaps I shouldn't have said anything because I seem to-be "weighed up" incorrectly and my membership's due for renewal in a few weeks and I don't want to leave like this.

There is nothing that you need to explain to me, you know that. We go back a very long way.
It was me that introduced you to BM and I do not want you to leave at all. I also know that when you are able, you will get to a BM event, but Rome was not built in a day.
LTGTR is a mate of mine and I know that he is most definitely not a moaner. This is nothing to do with MAG rallies. I know exactly what the argument is about because I was one of the ones accused of moaning when it all erupted last year.
Bill, bless you, I was horrified to hear what happened to you last week and I'm so pleased you are making a speedy recovery and already thinking ahead to when you are back riding again. But that isn't the happy optimistic outcome for everyone....it just isn't right to tell someone who was looking for understanding of their own difficulties to "stop moaning again. Why don't you just button it"
Minnie, I didn't say it was about MAG rallies. I just gave that as an example on the No Cars, No Vans rules and emphasied that that did not apply to BM.
Sorry folks this is a thread for the cornwall camp and as many other threads have gone astray just latey think this needs to end so please can you keep this to PMs now
My brother would love to attend cornwall unfortunatley it is not possible due to the fact I am attending his funeral tomorrow.
The way i see it everyone at BM are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend BM Rallies, Bike Or No Bike other members will help you to get set up Cars do not come into it. Arrive and we will help you pitch tent park your car/van or Bike and help YOU enjoy a great week
with other Bikers. You do not need a bike to be a biker you just need to love two wheel travel and what we stand for Bikers Help Bikers thats why we nod to each other, on the Highway its our code of friendship.(unwritten with no rules) If your a member of BM we will
help you enjoy the rallie period. Forms of transport do not matter attending and having fun is the only priority. DOA
Well said DOA
Respect to you JP, this is the Cornwall thread
Perhaps we could adopt your request for all threads to be kept on track.
Most of us have been 'guilty' of doing it at sometime or another, me included!!!
We could use this
Well said indeed DOA, you must be immune from what's going around in the air this week lol cos u made sense.
On topic... Bill I would definitely fly but I have plans most of June and lots of visitors. I also don't get my full license until July (going to Spain for my exams, so hope I pass). After July I hope to be able to hire a little plane to fly over regularly to events, but would need to find local small airfields where someone could pick me up.
I'd also be able to run some pleasure flights for you folks, you just pay the hours of the plane. The reason being that if I bring one of our club's planes for a whole weekend then I have to do a minimum number of hours per day in it or else the plane's owner loses income where he could be hiring it to students at the weekend over here.
PS: That might apply for the KISS Rally if I pass. It's a long way though and would probably cost me about a grand (euros) in total (there and back). 250 eur per person if i bring 3 mates though which is a normal flight cost
PPS: Sorry DOA, I just re-read and saw the message about your brother. Absolutely terrible to hear and I'm really sorry for your loss. Hope you have everything you need during what must be a horrible time for you.
Ok thanks Matt he had a great sense of humour and would have loved all this bitching.
So Hopefully the above is put to bed now!
Lets Get To Cornwall and Party! I fancy a Carribean/Hawaian nite any one up for it bring a shirt you can get them from asda and matalan beware I did one in Feb on Hols and includes drinkin lots of Rum! I have ace music box setup
Sorry Matt did not mean to exclude you for flying, have talked to the site and found that there is a airfield along side it that is used for parachute jumps [they do them for 1st timers if anyone wants to have go] no Jackie you can't get to push them out the plane, but if you or anyone else wants to fly in i would try to arrange for you to land there
Matt, if you do decide to bring friends along to the KISS rally, don't forget you are only allowed one guest per member so they would have to register lol
