Not this woman Roughie! Not my type of book at all, give me a good horror or sci-fi book anyday
Just finished the first three 'Game of Thrones' books, only another 4 to go then feck knows how many there are in the series to get through after that also just started reading a little horror story 'Apartment 16' by Adam Nevill.
lol Lulu after book 3 which is really book 3 part 1, there are 3 more currently published and 2 after that as yet unfinished....i hope he hurries up!
there are supposed to be 7 in all (as in the 7 kingdoms) but thats now 8 as book 3 is split into 2......complicated or wot! lol
Oh gawd Debs thats even more reading to get through haha, them books are very long too but Im plodding through slowly......to be honest I think I will just read them alongside the tv series as I don't want to spoil too much of the story in advance. x
i watched the first series of it which is what got me into the books.....however im really disappointed with the 2nd series as it doesnt follow the books and changes major parts of the story...plus the big battle scene at Kings Landing was rubbish!
id just read the books and let the tv series annoy the hell outta ya for the bits they change!
Yes the tv one is what got me into the books too, I noticed that there was a lot more 'sensationalism' in the tv (as usual) lots of stuff there which was not in the books and it didn't add to it really. One character I like.... 'The Hound' well he seemed better in the tv series, more 'kindly' to Sansa (if he ever could be described as kind hahaha ) Yes the battle scene could have been longer really it was more special effects than hand to hand stuff, I would have loved to see some more scrapping. But hey the wildfire scene was good when it blew the boats up. It seems the author does preside over the tv series a lot so he must be ok with some of the changes. Yep can't wait for the next tv one
ummm yep but there was all the big romance shite with Rob Stark that just didnt happen in the book and did you think series 2 shoulda ended with the Red Wedding??
I thought The Hound was nice to Sansa in the book....he intervened once or twice to save her from Joffrey as well as helping her when she got separated and the other girl got raped (not in the tv series!)
It wasn't actually book 3 I thought I finished Debs, it was 2, I get as mixed up with the books as I do the tv one haha....haven't got to the Red Wedding yet....gawd Im well slow reader now lol. I hope the Hound lasts a while in the storyline, him and his 'little bird'. I remember seeing him on the tv series intervening to help Sansa when the two townie guys tried to rape her, but don't remember it in the book, think I will have to read it again. Hmmmm Im more into the visionary than the literary on this story I think
a re-read,so cheating, but spotted on back of bookshelf slipped down behind others.....101 uses for a dead cat, laughed till the colostomy bag split...................eeeeeeeeewww
OMG i remember buying 101 uses of a dead cat standing in the queue in smiths laughing my head off like a mad woman! that must be 30 yrs ago! YIKES! is it THAT old..........feck am i THAT old?
