Dav i'll give you a shout closer to the time and i'll sort booking hotel for you.
It doesn't cost any extra but through me you get the extras I have organised as part of a group booking, it also keeps it fair on hotel for their booking system
I have nearly 52 spaces so plenty to go round at moment and we're no where near 23 we had from last year
Hi everyone. alfarogers here, the blind man from London. I would really love to do this, go to Germany, but the old problems remain. Would anybody be going from anywhere roughly near to West London, obviously I need a pillion seat and also, just as obviously, I am fairly agile and mobile but need helping around when off the bike, ie taking somebody's arm to be led around. Would anybody be willing to do this and could anybody help please? It might be best private messaging me personally so we can discuss. I would be most grateful. Thanks. Steve Rogers (alfarogers)
Make sure you have all original copies of you Docs (V5, D Lisc, Ins).
Make sure your Ins is for driving in EEC or covered to do so I recommend you have breakdown Ins Extra Ins is at your discretion covering Health or accident
Anybody unsure what you need let me know or questions gimme a Pm and will help where I can.
No vignettes....but everyone will need to carry breathalysers in France...but you can buy them on the ferry about £6 for two....
VERY hefty instant fine if you don't comply...
I wouldn't bother at moment as they are not checking for them and we will be in France for 25 mins each way out with the port (your call though) Fine was to be around12 Euros although I was biking in France a few months ago there was no plan to chase foreign vehicles for it. France has a huge rural problem of drink driving why it's brought in.
Not for foreign vehicles unless you are being a git and get pulled.
Same with hi viz reflective clothing it has been put on hold at the moment. We will not be driving during the night and the French legislation has nothing to do with hi viz vests. It is about the Cm2 area of reflective material on your clothing. Most jackets already have more than enough as standard.

CAN ANYONE HELP?
refAlfarogers.
Sarah and I have met Steve, nice guy.
It is a big ask for a pilion ride to Europe and I sure Steve would help with costs.
I wopuld suggest if anyone is considering helping him that you meet up and arrange a long pillion ride in the UK first to assess accurately how it will all work.
ie, bike loading with luggage,handling,mounting/dismounting,communication.An intercom would be a big advantage.
I would also consider contacting my insurers and make sure there wasnt any issues there with a blind passenger. Prob not (discrimatory) but best to check it.

Anyone else paid up/booked ? I need to start looking at booking Germany hotel so need numbers and special requests. Couples are in doubles and there are twin rooms but both are 35 euros ahead
If your not fussed then you can go in one of the bigger rooms for 25 euros and these rooms have just been completely redone in last few weeks
