It dark down here too Danny, so I guess that means 'not time yet'. But we did check out the noshings at the Teesdale on the way back from today's automotive preambulations - all was well 😋
Some time nearer the event could you point us in the direction of the best place to fuel up locally please Steve? I will have used best part of a tankful on the way up 🙄
The garage in the village does fuel and there is a 24/7 garage down the road in the next village of Mickleton. Failing that there are plenty of hedges where you can park up and sleep whilst having you ear nibbled by one of the local, and highly erotic, sheep.
Well the The Teesdale are doing Teesdale lamb meatloaf with roasted winter vegetable casserole, served with roasted broccoli & red wine gravy. The Forresters have Couscous Royale, Merguez Sausage & 5 Spice Marinated Lamb. Or there is a chippy over the road. Or roadkill which is mostly rabbit but you might be lucky enough to find a grey squirrel. It's unlikely you'll starve...
Reading that menu made me want to set off tonight. Only problem is I can't get out of the street until the Christmas Lights have been switched on, the fireworks have gone skywards and all the sweet stalls n junk stalls have left the Main Street.
Well you'll just have to be patient 😌 The first snows are due tonight and over the weekend so you couldn't get here even if you wanted to. We'll be fine though, we're used to winter weather up here and we're stocked up with provisions. The first cases of cannibalism don't usually happen till February and only then if the co-op is shut.
Hopefully Northernpowergrid will have reconnected the power lines by then 😏 I just pity the poor buggers that followed Gretta's demands and stopped using fossil fuel and log burning heating
Other than village idiots, err, I mean residents, is anyone travelling there on the Thursday in order to have all day Friday exploring? I booked hotel from Thursday for 4 nights but am thinking I'll cut it back to 3 nights - got a new bike to pay for!
