Just because you happen to be travelling in a car on a particular day and not on a bike, does NOT mean you are not a biker.
Why should a biker have to risk not being able to get into a rally because it's sold out, by assuming they can get a ticket on the gate? There are all sorts of reasons why, on the day, you might suddenly not be able to travel by bike... to exclude entry to anyone travelling by any mode of transport other than bikes effectively therefore excludes bikers on occasion.
Avin me T.
Now I know I'm on a hiding to nothing, tryin to argue wiv a bunch o lasses....
But, even on my criteria, littlechick is ok, cos she is a future pillion. Ask for rides from lady bikers to meets - then check out the blokes.

If you pay to be on the site you should be entitled to be at any meeting held under its banner. If it wasn't for the none biking fraternity on the site i wouldn't have as many mates on here as i do. The same could be said for many bikers on here. It would be a sadder place without them all. I know who i'd rather ban from the rally!!
If you put on a rally you need paying people through the gate to at least break even on the cost so IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW THEY TURN UP. People have they're own reasons for not coming on a bike,as long as everyone has a good time. Here endeth my thoughts. (maybe)
Going back to the "ride for a ride" scenario, it's not about assuming that every man will expect such "payment", it's about (women particularly, but it applies to everyone) being sensible, not taking unnecessary risks and not putting yourself into a position where someone "thinks" he/she's getting "signals" from you that you in no way whatsoever intend.
And let's face it, most women, having reached a certain age and having been out on a few dates have ended up finding ourselves in the unfortunate position of being out with a complete waster who reckons that having bought you half a lager, you "owe" him some kind of gratitude which he expects to be expressed in some sexual way.
Of COURSE not every man is like that, but seriously, would YOU put yourself in what could be a potentially risky position? What's the point? You just don't... you pay your way, you do your own thing and you don't open yourself up to that risk.
As was recently pointed out to me, you might think you know someone, having socialised with them a few times in group situations, but they've always been sober, because they've been riding/driving... You get stuck in a tent with them for a weekend and they turn into a complete liability when they've had a skinful? Why bother taking the chance? That goes for males, females and all points in between!
When folk make jokey or flirtatious comments about you sharing a tent with them, it's all fine and dandy, but it does sow a niggling seed of doubt in your mind... can you be SURE they were only joking? Or is part of them hoping that you'll become rather more "friendly" if you share their tent? Personally, I wouldn't risk it.
That's why I go alone (ensuring I have people around/near me I can call on if need be, although I'm not bashful about telling an unwanted companion the facts of the matter and backing it up with a big stick if necessary) or with a girl friend or my partner. It's just common sense in my mind.
Right.... I now rule that this thread revert to HOW we hold a BM rally and not WHAT you use to get there!
I have spoken and my word is law.
As a HKtB I'm pulling rank on XK and ordering him to STFU
Come on a bike if you can, if you cannot then fine. BM membership is the only criteria.
Now if anyone would like a good hard shag in exchange for a lift please PM me ROFLMFAO
Holy crapoly , I have turned BikerMatch into BikerFight.
Julie had sent me a txt asking if I had seen what I had started , thought I'd better have a looksee .
11 acres is a big ole patch of ground plenty of space for bikes and cars . I have said to Graham when they do get rallies up and running to corden of an area specifically for cars (no cars on campsite) , bikes park by tents anyway .
There is a solution to keep the carphobic a little bit happier , a small surcharge for cars say £2 for BM members and £5 for non-members , with the exception of blue badge holders BM members free and non-members £2 .
We are all into the biking scene at the end of the day . I have been to rallies with my car before , when the bike has had a I'm not starting today moment , and when I have taken the kids with me all 5 of them , and also when I got married couldn't fit wife(nearly ex now) and 2 bridesmaids on the back of my Bandit .
We don't have to ride a bike to have an interest in them
For the ladies catching pillion lifts , why share a tent better to bring your own , then you don't have to fend off unwanted attention .

Am i missing something here. We had one person whinging about cars on site and all of a sudden he becomes the majority. How about everyone paid up from BM Pays the same set fee and none BMers Pay a fiver on top. This didn't start off as a bikers rally. It was put forward as a BM rally.
This has really made for some interesting reading, talk about a thread going off track. I have come across the under hand comments about going to rallies/bike events in my car even from my own bike club members but do any of these people ever stop to ask why I am not on my bike no they are just too quick to judge, I was only having this conversation the other day with some biker friends. Also if it wasn't sometimes for non bikers or bikers using other modes of transport to get to such events I am sure many of them would fail.
Bikers or non biker BM folk we are a community of like minded people who like to have fun so come on lets PARTY ON REGARDLESS
Does it really matter if you ride a motorbike, a pedal bike, a skateboard or a pair of roller blades/skates I thought this site was for making new friends and meeting new people and thats what I like about it, there is non of the one up manship like on a bike owners forum Where what you ride, what mods you have and how many hundreds of miles at break neck speeds you have done in the last few days is the topic of the day.
CG runs off into her garage, revs up her little cruiser complete with its bling, dusts of the cobwebs and says see you soon to it as she removes the key from the ignition and loads her car up complete with all her rally camping gear and heads of to yet another motor bike rally in her car ready to party.
so lets see what we,ve got so far..can,t go to rallies in car (so thats why XK,s back stayed pointed in my direction at cat&fiddle)must remember test pass cert..V5..insurance docs next rally if cant or don,t fancy it on bike..should Goldwing/Trike riders pay more or be refused admit cos they take up more space 4 peeps in a car= say £40..4 solo bikers=£40..which 1 takes up more site space?..LADIES..if you do pillion obviously make sure it is someone you know you can trust both as a rider and gentleman(and always take your own little 1 peep tent)...alchohol intake ..as i understand most full w/end rallies end with ride-outs either groups like B.M. etc or groups of pals that meet up on these occasions alchohol requires 12 hours to clear from the system so it would only be a totally irresponsible rider(and i,ve heard plenty of stories about them )that would be pissing it up like theres no tomorrow(again something for pillions to look out for!!) & watch out for them on rides..anyhows just to finish i,d like to say (well hurry up and effin say it then..i can hear you all )you can,t ban cars from B.M meets IT,S AN EFFIN SOCIAL SITE nor should you try to bar them from any other bike related event we are after all the most sociable peeps on the planet aren,t we lets keep it that way..if other factions wish to exclude bikers from their jollies then it prob weren,t worth attending....THATS ALL FOR NOW FOLKS!!!
Bikermatch,a social site for bikers by bikers.........debateable.
I know i'm now gonna upset a lot of people here but this is my opinion and i feel i have the right to express it.
If you want to take the kids away for the weekend go to butlins, any good bike rally has druken debauchery and inappropriate behaviour, thats why we love 'em.Cars have there place,i drive as well as ride, but i would no more turn up at a bike rally in a car, then go to asda for my monthly shop on a bike.nobodys knocking cars but a bike rally, organised by a bikers site should surely be attended by bikers on bikes. If you find it to difficult to ride a bike with tents, clothing, supplies ect then i would suggest you find a different 'hobby' as to my mind biking is a way of life not something to do when the sun is shining and you feel like slipping on some leather and going for a pose. The chat on here lately has become more akin to a bingo site in my opinion and i for one did not join for that.Big red i have been to many rallies where cars are excluded and they where well worth attending, mmmmmm mayhaps i should find a truckers site and post a pic of me on my bike!!!!!!!!
Absolutely you have the right to express your opinion Cassie and nobody should get upset over it!
I get put off going to rallies that insist on bikes only, whether I'm arriving by bike or otherwise. It's just a personal thing. I don't think you should exclude people who happen to be not on a bike on that day. It doesn't make you a non-biker if you're in a car.
Rallies are expensive do's to host... if you exclude a whole bunch of folk on grounds of transportation, you risk losing a whole lot of money.
