just a little add on you can add ur pic to this and then post to facebook and twitter etc.
anything to spread the word eh ?
just one point kwak how close r u to a medical school cause ur family may have to pay for transport of your body to the facility ! only know this cause thats what my mum wanted but because we moved about 80 miles from the teachin hospital it was going to be an absoult fortune to do it! worth looking into sorry if i put any one off the idea but best to be sure
An excellent point, thanks for letting me know Ned, I would never have thought of that.
Oh well, if my organs aren't fit enough for transplant and can't transport my body to a research facility then I guess my body will go to waste, no change there then.
Seriously tho, it will be a shame if a person's body can't be used for research cos of a geographical technicality.
I don't know if i can or if anything of me can be used to be honest, I have cf and well be body is knackered lol I know i can't donate blood due to CF.
I'll have to check it but im not sure if i can, but good on those that do who can :)
I have signed up, happy for organs to be used in transplant not so happy for research, I've seen what med students do when they are pissing about with cadavers, little shits.....
Time for a lift again I think as we have lots of new members, here is what was written way back on Page 1 when the post started
Afternoon all. A posting that I made earlier put my mind into a bit of a spin, as those that know me well will know that my Brother is is hospital currently awaiting a transplant. As Bikers, with blind car drivers around, we're probably some of the most vulnerable people on the roads today. Are you registered with the national organ donor register (sorry, don't know if this applies in Scotland, Wales or Ireland). If your conscience, religious beliefs, and close family members don't object to transplants following your death, then please consider registering. Carrying a "card" isn't enough these days. For those wishing to register, please visit : http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/default.jsp Thanks, Ian
I forgot to add, REMEMBER to UPDATE your N.O.K details regularly wherever you have them, by that I mean their address / phone number etc and write the date of update on it too.
Example:
N.O.K: Son, name, address, phone number(s) (mobile / work)
UPDATED: 13th June 2010
