Pond i was a lorry drivers mate in the late 60's and know what your on about ,The driver and i used to do Edinbrough to Grimsby on a weekly basis collecting or delivering fish.A flash of lights meant we're passing you and a flash back meant your ok come back in, the drivers used to greet each other on the road...it was safe in those days, i wonder sometimes if "progress" is what it means..nowadays you have all nationalities on the roads and do they know the rules *I wonder*. remember the term LDLD...long distance lorry drivers, they commanded and received respect.
Pond, a joke for you: A long distance lorry driver after 3 weeks on the road stops in a small town while heading home,he notices a sign in a escort agency that says...Special! 50 quid all you can eat, drink and the best lady included...he goes inside and tells the madame...here's 100 quid give me a beer a toasted cheese sarnie and the ugliest gal you got here!...the madame tells him,But Sir, for that kinda money you can have a 5 course meal, champagne and the most desirable girl we got! He answers...Yes but i'm not thirsty randy or hungry JUST HOMESICK lol.
I have to admit I nod to everyone on 2 wheels only prob is here on the Isle of Man I think everyone and there granny has a bike and it takes my head about an hour after my ride for my head to stop bobing up and down with the amount of noddin I have done lol. Loved the joke excalibur
Hope so too it would be great to meet up for a blast round the course together and have a refreshment or 3, not at the same time though lol.
It's fantastic all year round here and being able to do the course when I feel like it is defo a bonus, but the island really comes to life during the TT fortnight. Next year I'm gonna be a Race Marshall for the 1st time, so looking forward to it. Wonder if the racers will nod to me as they go by?
LOl - first time we went to the TT, we were that wound up about finally being there, 3 of us did a lap in the dark.
Was quite interesting
Been a few years since I went tho
yeah i know what u lads are on about with the lights , i still do it but a lot of the time u see folk just not bothering. shame realy. its like roping and sheeting i know driers that would sit n watch u struggle on a windy day rather than give u a hand, its then well why should i stop n give u a hand when u,re broken down !! i know thats the wrong way to think and u should rise above it but were all human.
i agree with you too kwak not all bikers are good but were not a bad bunch prob is with every walk of life it only takes a few to give everybody a bad name, but bikers are thought more off now than they were 20yrs ago.
ok rant over lol
its alrite ian i wouldn,t growl at ya !! lol espically not with that hat on lol
