I nod at everyone, even the scooter boys and girls! Cause if you've got the balls to ride on 2 wheels on roads full of t**ts, you deserve a nod of respect! Lol!
Recently people have stopped nodding back though... Mainly the cruiser riders (obviously) and the posers on Gixxers with matching leathers etc. Doesn't bother me though, just swear at them under my visor!
I nod at who ever I see on two wheels, given thumbs up to car drivers who make room to let me by, and swear at dickheads (male and female) who cut me up, pull out or generally act as knobs on the road (also curse myself for being a plank some times, epsecially when I forget to acknowledge someone for giving way).
I have no doubt what so ever that some people curse the shit out of me for pulling in after an over take (even though its safe in my opinion), or pulling out quickly.
I like to think we all have the occasional lapse in manners, but its not the end of the world.
I am the preverbial noddin donkey I nod when riding and wave from the back an stick my leg out in Spain. We are all out on the road on two wheels facing the same crap and the least we can do is acknowledge one another irrespective of that we are riding.
Interesting thread this one...............being a scooter rider and the link to nodding.
Must admit that I don't nod to folk who ride the lower cc scoots anymore (I have done so), i.e. those of 125cc or less, generally this is because they probably haven't passed their test, are riding like complete idiots or from my own experience when i've nodded to these scoot riders i've never received a nod back.
I can't recall ever getting a nod back when i've been riding my 100cc Peugeot but when i've been riding my Gilera gp800 I give and receive nods all the time.
So when i'm riding my 100cc Peugeot scoot I don't think about nodding, giving or receiving as I understand the generalisation that is given to them, even though I don't fall into that generalisation.
Hope this makes sense
Cheers

Would just like to add: i do respect learners (was one once myself), i'm on about the young lads (with L plates) that t**t about and undercut you to overtake!!!! I meant to say that I will nod to any sensible learner
Cheers
Its nice to see so many people joining in on this topic.
I believe that being on two wheels with all the idiots on the road should be marked with a nod of respect no matter what youre riding.
The only people I dont nod too are the chav riders, you know no body work on their scooters, feet on pillion foot pegs,no safety wear ignoring speed limits. These are the idiots that should be taken off the road as they wont learn and cant be bothered to.
Keep nodding people, lets get the mutual respect back on the roads.
cbt, das mod1 mod2 i'm confused.com when i passed in 1970 you rode up to 250cc and then the day after your test you do what i did.......... go and buy a 500cc triumph daytona! wish i still had it. (ok i'm an old fart)
Signed noddy
I've noticed that since Joe got the Harley back we only get nods from HD riders but when we're on the Trumpet we get a lot more nods but not very often from HD riders Personally i nod at everybody on 2 or 3 wheels and even cars when they are being nice to us .....HB x
I always nod to people on 2 wheeels... some nod back and some don't, but that's fine by me.
Interestingly, I nodded to a guy on a Ninja the other day and he nodded back... even though I was actually in my little Yaris complete with Think Bike Sticker on the back!! Made me chuckle that I forgot I was in the car!
"i'm on about the young lads (with L plates) that t**t about and undercut you to overtake"
If a scooter rider or biker undercuts me in a manner that puts me at risk, then I'll pull them up (they're rarely quick although they clearly think they are) and tell them the error of their ways.
And if that doesn't work then I'll simply hold them down and punch them repeatedly in the face until the screams of anguish turn into random bloody gargling and bubble blowing.
I nod, wave, anything really just to say hi to fellow bikers.....sorry though i do draw the line at quads......well the lads who ride them around here are such idiots !!!
