I agree david will be lotta fun, venues nice, camping field level and a hop skip n jump to the pub!
40s themed weekend will be interesting! A few spitfires and messerchmitts may appear....where me tin hat!
I agree Wendy, she does do a lot for us and wish I could do both. Unfortunately the two events are too far appart otherwise I would have dropped in on the party. It looks as though she will have a good turn out. Next year for me will be a definite.
Hi all, pleased to announce the first of a number of events in the South East.
I have arranged for BM to have a prescence at the 40s weekend being held at the Farriers Arms near Ashford.
The pub was founded in the 17th century and a couple of yrs
ago was in danger of being closed forever....the village rallied round
and bought the pub and its now owned as a co operative by several
hundred people!
They are keen to encourage use of the pub and grounds and its popularity is growing fast.
It has its own brewery and the ale is fine (I felt I had to try the several varieties in order to report)..
There is a restaurant and bar food too. There will be live
music although I dnt yet know exactly what! There is a mini footy pitch
and a bouls area too. Next door is a mill and the stream runs behind the
pub,the campsite is reached via a footbridge over this.
There will be a gathering of vintage cars, buses, trucks and bikes. Last yr attracted nearly 3000 folk over the weekend!
We will have a roped off area in the camping field and there is a toilet block situated there.
Washing facilities will be limited however, prob no showers although this may change.
Its a lovely place and I think will be a great atmosphere there.
I going to try to see if there can be a campfire for the eve too....
Harley club there too as may be others..
I awaiting further details and photos of last year to post for
you.......be nice if we can get a 100 to go......oh free lollipop too!!
Get yer names down!!
Andy
A free lollipop, now I remember why I put my name down for this one. I am looking forward to this one and it is what I might consider a local event a mere 52 miles
Lotsa folk expressed interest now.....get yer name on the event page list!
How about a bike 'treasure hunt' ? I sure I can sort some clues and hidden treasures to find!
