Hi John

Think your spell checker needs checking!!

Femal should that be female?

Eppingham should that be Empingham?

clensing should that be cleansing? LOL

I think Simon was going to get in touch with us & tell us exactly
where we are going to meet nearer the day.

Pat xx

Pat,
Bad day at work, rushing and a faulty cordless keyboard, but at least my day has now culminated in humour, that is a bonus. Lol

John

Glad your day has finished on a good note......could have done with a good note tonight - was at WI meeting tonight and the singing was a tad too high for me

It's the Whitwell part of Rutland Water we're meeting at. The place always confuses me. I asked Sandi to change the events page once already as I cocked it up and didn't have the heart to ask her to change it again; lol. As I said earlier in the thread, nearer the day I'll PM everyone who is on the events list to confirm it is Whitwell we're heading too, and also to pass on my mobile so if people end up in a car park on their own they can call me.

Thanks Simon for clearing up where we are going to meet, I'm sure Sandi won't mind changing the events page for you again - she will understand - she's a woman & knows that it doesn't take much to confuse men !! LOL

Nearly didn't have a bike last night! Forgot how bad the lights were on the Thundercat and that you just can't lean in the dark, lost the road for a second, that livened me up! LOL.

Thanks Simon, had a quick google map and see Whitwell and there are 2 Cafe's listed, will await your update.

Patty - at least we can do 2 things a once!

Had a blast round Uppingham way on sunday with Cagiva Girl, some great roads to play on . Went to the butty bar at the Uppingham bike shop, i had to laugh 'cos the woman wouldn't shout "WEIRDO!" when my bacon butty was ready, so CG had to go and ask if they were done

Weirdo, I take it you went right at the lights and down the B664 to Market Harborough? There's a lot of my rubber on that road.

You may know this one as well:
From Uppingham, go to Oakham and take a right down the B668 to the A1, nip up the A1 and come off at Colsterworth, down the B676 to Melton Mowbray, do a U-Turn when you get there and do it again in reverse, go straight over the A1 and Follow A151, just before Corby Glen Turn Left down B1176 this will take you to A52 ouside Grantham. If you know your way, Tea and Butty at Grantham Honda, then do it in reverse.

The B1176 can be very challenging there is a lot to catch you out (bends directly after blind crestsetc) but a very rewarding ride. Looking at your pics. your up to the challenge.

As I said thou you may already know these. Happy safe ride.

Actually if anyone after the meet wants to ride it, I would be happy to take the lead the way.

John.

Thanks for the info on the roads John, we did go right and on to Market Harborough, then went to Foxton locks.
It was the first time i'd been around the area, and Cagiva Girl was going to take me along the other routes you mentioned, but she picked up a passenger (Nerg Nail in her back tyre ) so we shortened the rideout a bit.

have done the Bitchfield/ Ols Somerby road a few times - nice pub just before the roundabout, which makes a perfect halfway point to return down the same road or a short trip to the lorry stop at Colsterworth before blasting down the A1 - else you can turn odd the A1 to rejoin the Corby Glen road. The road from Melton to the A47 is quite nice as well, nicer way to get to Ashby than the A47 both ways :-)
