*rants @ self for utter stupidity in not weighing article before listing on ebay*
After ebay fees and paypal's fees and what it actually cost to blinking well send, I've made a loss of 50p on "selling" summat.
Stupid feckin' eejit! I've got creditors beating a path to my door on a daily basis and I go and screw up in monumental style, instead of making a few quid to shut them up for a few days!
& typically, the only thing that sold where I've actually made a half decent profit on, the flippin' buyer's gone walkabout and not bothered paying me - Gggggrrrrr!
Any men out there , or are the guys all hibernating tonight ? Em Tm Prof Geoff Vinney Pd Fj Tc Rd Ian ...i'm feeling outnumbered excepting for Mr P lol
time to vent before I start to murder my companys management!
The company I work for has introduced a zero tolerance approach to the uniform policy. If you are not in full uniform you get sent home off pay. In principle, fine. What has really fecked me off is the fact that the company doesn't provide a full womens uniform and they are trying to force us to wear mens.
A cravat or scarf is worn with a blouse, not a tie, according to the uniform policy. We dont have uniform trousers or skirts, jumpers, fleeces, waterproof coats or cravats, and the blouses issued are not tailored to wear with a tie, and such low quality unbutton themselves as you drive, so are actually held to gether with safety pins!
I raised the issue of the fact it is actually harrassment and sexual discrimination. In the words of one of the pr*cks I mean managers, "I dont care about sex discrimination, just shut up and wear the f***ing tie"
How the hell do you wear a tie with a v-neck blouse with no collar? Which is why 5 years ago the company said that women need not wear a tie if they wear a blouse. But apparently that isnt managements problem that the blouses arent suitable for ties, and I should just tie any old "bloody knot" in it or wear a mans shirt, which in my case means a 20" collar, shoulders down to my elbows and sleeves and shirt tails almost to my knees, just to get the chest measurement.
It was piddling down the other day so I wore a black waterproof, and got told, "Your not wearing that, its not company issue" I pointed out the company didnt provide womens uniform and it was raining and was told they didnt care, black is an inspectors colour and wasnt to be worn by drivers!
I have had this cr*p for 3 days, its just one manager, the inspectors dont care and think its total clap trap, the male drivers support us, the office staff support us even the managing director didnt say a thing to me when I walked past him as he thinks its OTT as well.
Us women drivers have decided that I will be the one to make a stand, because as a Union shop steward I have the full union backing and I have a sneaking suspicion I am heading for a disciplinary for refusing to wear uniform and I also have a sneaking suspicion that my company will be facing sex discrimination proceedings!
Why cant they see that if they dont issue a womans uniform they cant insist we wear it!
thank god i have 6 days off now!
Ye gads Frag! What an utterly ridiculous situation to be in! It seems pretty cut & dry... how can you possibly insist that people wear something that doesn't even exist?
Enjoy your 6 days off and give 'em hell on your return
