this was about batteries still fitted on the bike not sat on the concrete floor. i know batteries sat directly on a concrete floor will loose their charge, this is a temperature issue. cocncrete sucks the heat out of the bottom of a battery causing a temperature difference inside the battery, so loosing it's charge. (think battery in winter holding it's charge) but these are still fitted on the bikes and the concrete will draw the current out of the battery thru the sidestand if you don't buy a harley davidson plastic coaster to put your sidestand on. i have often wondered about harley riders but surely they aren't going to believe that, but does the harley dealer think they will? what does he think of his customers?
And what about all those peeps who garage their bikes at home , on a concrete floor - as most are....do they need a Harley disc thingy too- or is this problem specific to Harleys - as if!!!!!
never had this problem myself, although the alarm on newer harleys can drain it over time and a trickle charge is always recommended if its standing for a prolonged period.
Who's up for a ride to Coalhouse Fort this Sunday (31st) ???
Tis near Tilbury, so not too far, maybe stop off at Lakeside Harley Davidson, (nice burger-bar there ;) ) And maybe look at thier range of side-stand puc's ???
