The Assembly Rooms and Guildhall Theatre are located on the Market Place in the centre of Derby. Just 5 minutes walk from the Bus Station and 15 minutes walk from the Railway Station. The venue is sign-posted on all major road routes. There is a multi-storey pay and display car park with 200 spaces next to the venue.

Approaching Derby from the South East via M1 Leave M1 exit 25 (A52) Proceed along A52 to Pentagon Island roundabout Take 2nd exit from the roundabout Keep left and follow the signs for Derwent Street Road bears right past the Exeter Arms (on LHS) at a 'Y' junction 40 yards on, there is a 'T' junction Turn left on to Derwent Street and travel over bridge to a roundabout The Assembly Rooms car park is the 3rd exit off the roundabout Approaching Derby from North East via M1 Leave M1 exit 28 (A38) Follow A38 into Derby On the outskirts of Derby, the A38 merges with the A6 At the Palm Court Island Roundabout, (Palm Court Restaurant opposite), follow A6 into Derby, passing the 'Broadway Pub' on the RHS Continue past 'Broadway' through Zebra crossing (approx half mile on), followed quickly by a Pelican Crossing. Take 1st left onto Ring Road 1st Left off Ring Road, signed 'Chester Green' Keep left, turning 1st left over bridge (Duke Street) Continue on Duke Street until 'T' junction with Full Street Turn left onto Full Street Assembly room and car parking Approaching from the North West via Stoke & Uttoxeter Off the A50 take the A516, signed Derby West. Follow signs for Derby. A516 joins A38 east bound. Stay in left hand lane (outside two lanes go off towards the M1 and Nottingham) Follow signs for the city centre, staying in left hand lane and going over roundabout (Aldi then Mallard pub on left) Straight ahead at lights; left hand lane becomes a bus lane. (Bemrose school on your right.) As soon as it runs out get into the left lane and veer to the left at the lights. (There's a sign saying John's Shoe Repairs straight ahead of you at lights.). Go down the hill. Drive to the end of the road, over a pelican crossing, to the main lights and turn right on to Friar Gate, a tree-lined road with red brick Georgian buildings. Stay in left hand lane. At the next lights you have to turn left - stay in the left hand lane and follow the road as it swings to the right. Left at the T junction and get into the right hand lane. (BBC Derby's on the left.) At lights take filter lane to turn right. Go past big orange wooden flooring company and turn left at T junction. Get in right hand lane. Straight ahead at the lights. (Bar called The Island is on your right, Silk Mill pub with a big mural in front of you.) Follow Full Street to the roundabout, staying in right hand lane. Come back on yourself on the roundabout - 3rd exit is the Assembly Rooms Approaching from Manchester, Buxton, via Ashbourne Follow A52 to 1st roundabout with McDonalds Restaurant on RHS Take 2nd exit for A52 to Derby Pass two sets of Traffic Lights Turn left at 3rd set on Ring Road to Pelican Crossing Road bears right, passing BBC Radio Derby. 1st Left off Ring Road, signed 'Chester Green' Keep left, turning 1st left over bridge (Duke Street) Continue on Duke Street until 'T' junction with Full Street Turn left onto Full Street Assembly room and car parking on the right, opposite Police Station Car Parking There is a multi-storey pay-on-foot car park with 200 spaces located next to the venue. Charges evenings 6pm-8am and all day Sunday £1.50 (pre-payment accepted).
