Stutts sounds a great idea. I've always wanted to go round France on the bike but don't feel i'd keep up with the more experienced so defo put me down.
Sounds good to combine pub crawl/treasure hunt with pilly day.
I've always wanted to go around the old town in Edinburgh too.
Only 17 days to go!!!!!!
J/J BikerBill sorted a camp there in 2011 stayed at a place called Bluehills camping site great place and very bike friendly run by a biker and his better half. Im sure you will find a few interested in a trip to cornwall we had a great time and only got wet when we left. This was the site we used and could not fault it in any way

We often do Boris
But frequently, when we do, there's nobody home
Seems they are all "up North" at all the best events
But "Northern" BMers are regular organisers and attendees of southern venues
A quick perusal of the calendar for the past couple o years will confirm that
we are always down that neck of the woods.but would be nice to get the midlands lot to come up north and for us all to go south.and as for organising it why cant the events organisers just find a venue elswhere.roo is from leicester and he managed to organise a do up in the lakes.not to be funny but it just seems 90% of the bm events tend to be in central midlands area and all the other members do most of the travelling.yeah maybe im being arsy but it happens to be true i dont mind travelling but think that the events should be moved around to make it fair for all members not just the midlands sorry but thats how it seems to me
zzrbabe42 sorry to disapoint you but we have done camps in north wales south wales the pilly day has been to notts we get to squires a fair bit Bikerbill did a camp in cornwall in 2011 so we do travel the problem is alot of members dont want to arrange meets nights out and camps so what are we surposed to do arragne a night out in a pub we know nothing about. We did the Kiss rally for 2 years and have now pass it onto another area for them to do 2 years then it will move on again. if folk dont want to hold events Im dam sure Im not going to wipe there ass for them aswell. sorry if that sounds bad but we are fed up of folk moaning about there are only events in the mids
but thats my point completley different areas should arrange events and the members should all support them.it wasnt any kind of go at the organisers that do stuff now.but the fact that more suppert from members is needed if they want bm to go on.as is always said you only get out what you put in.i have gone to bm events all over at squires, the midlands etc.but it would be nice for the southern lot to have a do and also to have one up north and for members from all corners to go and support it
Can i remind everybody that events teams are all unpaid volunteers and organise stuff for others to enjoy in their spare time and sometimes use their own money to get stuff started or sourcing out places.
I organise an annual weekend in Mablethorpe which i pay for up front on other members good word that they are coming.
I organised a mini cruise to Amsterdam and a Halloween do in Leeds as well as a canal boat weekend and various weekend camps. As well as travelling about sourcing different fair travel places for the pilly days.
I travel all over north and south to attend different events and enjoy it.
But like JP am getting fed up with folks moaning theres nothing going on near them, i live in the Midlands so therefore concentrate organising stuff locally to me, if i am going to the time, trouble and expense of organising stuff for others to do then why not convenient for me ??
We have organised the KISS Rally 2 years running and have to spend loads of time going back and forwards to the venue and sorting local stuff out like Police, local council crap and then spend the whole weekend on duty, how the feck can we do that 100 miles away from were we live.
If you want more stuff closer to you or elsewhere then stop moaning about it and get off your arses and organise something instead of waiting for others to do it all for you. Word of warning its not as easy as you think but feel free to go ahead and then hopefully you may have more respect for the guys that go out of their way to sort it for you.
Apologies for the harsh words but enough is enough.
I totally agree BJ, I am fairly new here, been to a couple of local meets, don't have the time mostly to travel that far due to commitments, but it is true, you get out what you put in
My first North East Event.. six of us (not counting Jules B'day bash.. everyone loves her and was bound to attend)
Last North East Event.. fourteen of us
Positive is the inboxes afterwards of folk who want to come out next time..
BUT have to say.. BJ and the rest of the Midlands Team make it look easy.. it's always well organised and wickedly lush fun! ~ What goes on behind the scenes though.. I only had 14 with 6 drop outs.. that was a lot of inboxes.. a lot of texts.. a lot of calls... and at the end of the day you are so busy trying to make sure that it all runs to clockwork like you've advertised it and you are so busy trying to keep Everyone attending happy that you run yourself ragged..
I had 14.. how they manage with 100's... My hat goes off to them... Really they should be applauded for putting themselves out there in the first place..
But like I say.. slowly slowly catchy monkey and I will be organising more events up North.. and after Christmas will be reviving the Lindisfarne Idea and if I need help I know I'll be asking the Midlands Team and the rest of the BM Organisers for advice because they've got it off to a fine art...
i like that Jackie :get of your arses and organize something: as jp and jackie say we have organized things up north and down in Cornwall and south Wales,if its from the midlands up than we know there will be 50 or more people there but the event in Cornwall which was at a brilliant site only attacked 24ish with only 2 of them being form the south and i dont think we got any more in south Wales this year, it's not easy finding sites and organizing events 350 miles for were you live and if not many turn up you just think why bother, it's much simpler if the sites only 50 miles down the road, so come on lets have some people organizing near were they live instead of the same people doing it all the time
Bill I know its not easy the 1st barmouth camp that I did with drobbs who couldnt make it due to her aciedent took 2 days of phoning sites before we got 1 that was prepaired to take us. and we were very lucky with the weather as it was feckin hot and folk were turning up last min. thats the trouble folk want the camps meets and fun but dont wont to do the graft that is needed to oganize them. I for one get piss off with the constant why are all the meets in the mids.
Tell you what we will take a seson off at the min the only thing set in stone is BJs pilly day so thats it from us for 2013.
come on step up
