I looked at the idea of going down by train, a single each way £5 or £34.10 return (I can't work that one out) if I buy in advance from Victoria Station.
Victoria to Hampden Park (the nearest station to the hotel) 1h 22m or 1h 36m depending on what train you get, with a quick tube ride from home just over 2 hours I thought wasn't to bad.
Now the return journey is a different story.
Hampden Park to Eastbourne 5 minutes, then a 15 minute wait to catch a bus for a 42 minute ride from Eastbourne to Lewis, this time there's only a 8 minute wait for the next train to, No not Victoria but Brighton.
With 15 minutes to buy a slice of British Rail Coffee, I can now get the train back to London, back on the tube and a short walk to the pub. 3h 30m total or 2 hours on the bike and a extra 1 and a half in the pub.
Nick will you keep your ridiculous ideas to yourself. Going to a biker event on a motorcycle, preposterous. Next you will be telling us the world is round you old fool.
We are catching a train then taxi from the station to the hotel. No driving No riding Worst that can happen is we get chucked off for eating all the pies
