my son loves the rally scene does that mean now cause we aint got bikes we cant go to any? my best runs a bike a club yet does'nt have a bike ( for health reasons) Does that mean she has to close her club down?
It is indeed run by bikers for bikers. So anyone who doesn't own a bike should leave the site then? This is getting stupid in my opinion, the rally isn't even organised and already people are arguing. Whats the chance of a rally being organised at this rate?
Who's organising it ?
I'll stick to finding sites(got another in mind as it happens) , don't mind helping with setting up the site before the rally and clearing up afterwards, but as for organising I am totally crap at that side of things .

CG says " if there's mooorings for boats then can she have a hard standing for her caravan? leccie hookup is optional. If not then can she bring her bike on the trailer behind her car?"
She also said she would be available for bingo calling. a tin of baked beans for a line and a full english for full house
CASSIE...GREAT TO READ YOUR OPINION..THATS ONE OF THE THNGS THE SITES FOR(INNIT) I MYSELF WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TAKING THE KIDS TO MOST BIKER RALLIES..like you say drunken debauchery & inappropriate behaviour(not for kids).the general idea of this thread i believe was the advertising of a possible venue to hold meets(what have you started Doug)..in my opinion if a site like B.M wants to hold a gathering of the clan then so b it and as some members aren,t yet bikers & some never will be but they enjoy the company/cameraderie/lifestyle of bikers learnt either through family or friends then i for one would not wish to bar them from meets (please bear in mind B.M IS advertised as a social site..bike minded people..not just bike-riding people)...as for rally organisers barring cars from sites I DID NOT sayTHEY would not be worth attending i was referring to other factions i.e cafe,s and the like which make it clear to you that bikers are not welcome..as to biking being a way of life..having only recently passed my test..i also wish to adopt this stance (hopefully an all-weather biker)but i would never de-cry anyone who adopts the so-called fair weather bikers (is there such a thing with the british climate?)approach & finally(thank god for that you say old fart prattling on again!!) DON,T SHARE YER LOVELY PICCIES OF YOU & YER BIKE WITH THE TRUCKER SITES THEY WOULDN,T APPRECIATE THEM LIKE WE DO ON HERE!!
It's good solid ground and has been used by the caravan club , don't know about leci hookup though . There's a thought , haven't tested it out with tent pegs might be crap for camping .
Best be having a ride down at the weekend go check it out .
I guess taking caravan/trailer would be down to the orginisers discretion . Oh hek is that another rant I hear starting !!!
AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
ARE WE GOING TO ARRANGE A RALLY OR NOT??????
OR ARE WE GOING TO DISCUSS ALLOWED METHODS OF TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM A RALLY, WHO CAN ATTEND AND WHO CAN'T?????
I for one have been riding bikes, without a break, for over twenty years ....... but if I want to go to a meet, weekend away, rally or what-bl**dy-ever in my car, then I will.
And if the organisers don't want the sh*t load of cash that I have in my pocket cos I ain't on a bike, then that's their problem! And if anyone on this site even thinks I should stay away cos I fancy bringing four wheels rather than two, then they can sit on my hot sausage of love!!!! LOL!
So (in a slightly calmer manner), may I ask what are we going to do?
Is it worth meeting to discuss/swap ideas/agree a strategy? Perhaps with the landlord of the pub/land in question?
11 ACRE TOTALLY FLAT FIELD..YOU SAID pity you didn,t mention it had been flattened by god knows how many sq metres of of feckin concrete...use by caravan club...caravans allowed at site owners discretion...so we can,t pitch tents...could be turned away with caravan...tell me Dougald is the site suitable for a LYNCHING PARTY??
THATS ONE OF THE THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS SITE SOMETHING SO SIMPLE DESCENDS INTO CHAOS..AS WANNABE WOULD PUT IT..THEN THE FIGHT STARTED ...FER YOU GEOFF B...
All grass field , can't get tent pegs into concrete .
ORGINISERS discretion - BM members (still waiting to find out who is willing to take on this role)
so prob here seems to be rally= bikes only, so how about we dont have a rally we have `the 1st annual bm gathering featuring Geoff and his hot sausage of lurve`, lets try and sort this out so that its an event everyone can take part in and enjoy!
really have had enough of arguing the toss would be happy to help so lets get our selves sorted.
fastjock me asking if I could take my caravan or my bike on my trailer was meant to be tongue in cheek. lol
Lets have a bm meet/rally and have a prize for the most unusual transport used to get there. lol
I think when organising an event it is too easy to start offering too many choices to people before an event. So what I tend to do now is suggest a choice of date, maybe a choice of two venues then see what feed back I get then just make a choice and book it. I have organised a few biker meets now and all have been very successful and put back on the calender for the following year.
So fastjock if you want to organise a bm meet chose a venue, chose a date and just ask people to let you know if they will be coming and get the money up front to make sure your not out of pocket. Keep it basic and it should run itself otherwise you won't enjoy it as you will be running around all week end instead of having fun yourself. Also bear in mind liability insurance when organising a week end event. I am sure RC could give you information on that sort of thing.
